Milan Momcilovic withdraws from the 2026 NBA Draft

If Milan is smart (and I think he is) he can maintain a ton of goodwill with the ISU fanbase if he's careful with his words next year and doesn't pull a Campbell and say something unnecessarily stupid.

Off the topic but what did CMC say that was stupid?

(I thought he tended to say kind of stupid things so not defending, just hadn't seen much).

He’ll be very much like Niang in the league. There forever, and will get some minutes during the season. But unless he gets better at defense, he cannot play real playoff minutes. If only there was a college coach that could teach defense?

Imo he's a better defender than Niang.

He should be treated the same as Audi & Rocco. It doesn't matter to me the path he took to get to a different college. The bottom line is he had eligibility left to play at ISU and is going to another school to play basketball. It's a distinction without a difference.
I disagree. He and Coach had to figure out what was in the best interest of Milan as well as ISU. Their hands were tied because this is the broken system we now have. Milan is a Cyclone and should be treated as such.

I don't blame him at all for chasing the money. We're winning with guys we've "bought" from other schools, but for me it just waters everything down. It's not nearly as interesting to watch college sports anymore.

If you have to someone rich to fund your team to have a shot at a national championship it's not exciting if you win one.

Pretty simple deal for me. I totally get him wanting to cash in. But the only reason I've ever rooted for Milan is because he was a Cyclone. Now he's not a Cyclone. So yah, I hope he has a bad year and I don't feel at all bad about it and I'd hold zero sympathy for him if he plays his way out of next year's draft.

I didn’t expect this. NBA says he is not in the top 60 college players, but portal says he is the #2 player.
Not really what’s happening here. The NBA is saying he isn’t one of the top 25 or 30 NBA prospects on the planet, so a guaranteed roster spot and contract aren’t a sure thing, and even if he got a guaranteed contract, where he was going to get drafted it would be less than he’d make at one of these schools.

Milan is making the right move to grab the money available. He's not likely to replicate the season he just had, which will make his dream even more difficult to achieve. He may make it but there's no guarantee. He's an injury away from a down season, and his stock falls vs rising. Hope he's surrounded by people he trusts and invests his bag wisely.

I hope PSU loses every game. I just don’t feel the same way towards Milan.

I treat this like any other pro sport, cheer when they are on my team, don’t really care when they aren’t and I don’t have to see my team play them. Really hate them if they left the team I cheer for and went to a division rival.

It’s also one thing when the team decides it’s time to move on and when the player moves on for whatever reason. If Iowa state had the money and was like “see ya later” to Milan, I’d be pissed at ISU like I would be with any of my teams who would let a top player walk.

I understand why he’s leaving, but I don’t care if he does well on the court. If he goes to Arizona, I hope it blows up in his face.
