Well Swanson’s butt hurts and something else will come up. SD keeps throwing at our heads. Bregman got hit in the toe. So opportunities come up. I could see a scenario where Conforto becomes strictly a PH with an occasional DH. That gives you defensively a second catcher besides Shaw and Ramirez. Plus he’s a switch hitter.
I understand he’s 23 and needs ABs but if someone goes down for a couple weeks it wouldn’t be terrible to see him everyday to know if we need to make a move or are we set? At some point you need to do what’s best for the team as opposed to what’s best for his development. He just seems to be ready so unless the return is coming from the Motor City I don’t want to lose him.
