Where did JP suggest that RevShare (it sure as hell isn't "Profit Share") wasn't fully funded for 2025-26?

And ISU's Learfield team is working on facilitating NIL deals for ISU athletes.
He has said it multiple times. We are using our reserves to cover the shortage. Last I checked we only had about 13m funded of the total. And covering the rest with our reserves, which he said will only last a couple years at that rate. Which is why he said they arent going out to get outside NIL deals for players until the Rev Share is fully funded. That was the entire controversy at the end of the football season. JP said when they got the Rev Share fully funded they could go work to get other outside deals.

This was talked about in depth on several of the pods etc with Blume etc.

Here is what you previously posted: "How many times does he have to tell people not only have we not funded the Profit share fully, and not even close, but we have no money for our other plans and facilities."

This is incorrect. RevShare was fully funded up to the cap for 2025-26 and will supposedly be again for 2026-27. Yes, reserves are being tapped to some extent to fully fund RevShare.

Also, the following is incorrect in your post here: "Which is why he said they arent going out to get outside NIL deals for players until the Rev Share is fully funded."

The ISU arm of Learfield is currently attempting to facilitate NIL deals that can get through the Clearinghouse but his preference is that those deals don't divert corporate funding away from the General Fund/RevShare. He also stated that once Cook came on board that discussions would be held on the corporate funding issue between NIL and the General Fund. And those discussions have supposedly increased the NIL pool for MBB for 2026-27.

Just feels like a lot of desperation and unknown right now in the athletic department. Outside of men’s hoops, most fans don’t know what is being sold as a product for next year.

The point was fully funded without going into deficit, requiring taking from the reserves. Taking money from reserves to cover the shortfall in the budget because we dont have enough funding to cover it otherwise, is not what I am calling fully funded. Yes it is funded, but only by using the reserves, to cover it, that may be semantics, but that is not what I call fully funded. Fully funded is having enough income/donations etc coming in to cover the entire amount without depleting our reserves we have worked to save for years.

You say its funded, I say its not. As far as the Learfield stuff, that is pretty much what I said, he is not going out and working to get outside deals for athletes because he believes he must secure enough funds to cover the RevShare before anyone else. Whether other parts of the department are doing so, is a different story, but even you said he also prefers that those deals do not take from the departments funds in the name of NIL, until that is fully covered. Essentially, what I said, in in more words.

Again, you and I disagree on most things, so the semantics of the wording and meaning might as well be another one.

So she was told she didn't have to improve her conditioning? Every college athlete should be encouraged to be in good physical conditioning. No wonder why Bill lost the locker room.

Also, watching Audi play defense, I seriously question her effort on the defensive side. There were multiple instances where she looked like she wasn't giving any effort. There were times where she stood there and did absolutely nothing. At least put your arms up or something.
I know for a fact they worked her out hard when she started ISU. Extremely close info. Compared to HS, she was in much better shape her freshman year. I can’t say that now.

Haven't read the whole thread. How does BF retention bonus work. If they don't renew his contract they will not owe the $700,000 bonus in August?

It sounds like it's money he gets as long as he doesn't resign on his own or get fired for cause.

Hopefully this keeps a Steven Pearl situation at bay

Why is this mentality so prevalent on CF?

"I remember when we use to be terrible 40 years ago that's why we should never strive to be better than just barely making the postseason."
I agree with this. It is great Bill turned the program around in the 90's and and I'm glad he's been rewarded handsomely for all of his efforts but that doesn't mean it isn't time for him to move on. If 3 of the biggest stars we've ever had leaving at the same time along with 5+ others isn't an indication for everyone I don't know what is.

I've never seen anyone say we should never strive to be better. Some disagree that getting a new coach will automatically get us to that next level, though. And living through ****** eras kind of shows people how bad a new coach can be.

Because Iowa state is like being a Cubs fan. Great success is fleeting. We experience good things, change happens and struggles can replace success. It’s true in every sport. The only sport that has maintained consistency. Is the women’s basketball program. Why? Consistency in the coaching staff. Yes there have been a few few down seasons, but very few. Men’s basketball? Perfect example of the ups and downs that occur when coaching staff has changed. Football? Same thing.

I just have something to say about Pollard's video. I understand, as fans, we may not have the right to be privy to EVERYTHING that is going on behind the scenes....... but I am a loyal and intelligent fan, I hate being treated like I am DUMB.
I don't need you blowing the smoke about the transfer portal, about what's happening at other schools, so on and so forth.
I would rather you just say, "Obviously the women's basketball program is having issues but the coaching staff has identified them and has a plan for fixing them. CBF has given Iowa State enough that we are going to give him that chance.

The End

Yeah but that's not Pollard's style. He gets off on treating people like a Richard.

It felt like a video of excuses and "just deal with it cause other schools have it worse"

The video did nothing for me.
