You are WAY more optimistic than me on our current state of the program. First off we surely will not be spending a bunch of NIL money to assmeble a roster and combine that with the mass exodus of players we just have and a coach that would be a lame duck at this point what decent players in their right mind would want to sign up for that? We have no star power left after Audi, Addy, and Jada left. If Audi had stayed you at least have that to try and sell but now it's just AJ, Paulk, and hopefully Comito sticks to her commitment.Being optimistic, if Bill and staff are able to put together a solid team for next year and exceed all expectations (which would be to finish in top half of the league and perhaps make the dance) then his legacy wouldn’t be tarnished nearly as much as an exposure of the problems with NIL and the transfer rules. On the other hand, if the team gets a bunch of fill in players who flounder it will be a sad end to a storied career. What it will come down to is (a) recruiting players who can play as a team and then (b) doing the best coaching job the staff has ever done. It’s not like the Big 12 is a power house conference. We can expect TCU to buy another team and a couple others to be decent, but it’s pretty weak overall.
This is a MASSIVE rebuild now and factoring everything in that has gone on in the past week or even back when the wheels fell off this season I don't see how you can rebuild it with Bill at this point. Multiple years of several players leaving is now a trend not a coincidence and that points to a culture problem which is a coaching staff issue. If you bring in a new HC you maybe get them to bring a few of their players along with them which is a start to assembling a roster.
