Curious about that NIL stuff. On the Williams and Blum pod they kept alluding to the fact that our financial situation has changed dramatically in the last month. The rumor I heard repeatedly this weekend around the united center was Hyvee was a big player, especially in the case of Milan. Anyone have any insight?

Had you noticed he is guarding a 3 most of the time? It is a lot harder to get to the boards when you are 15 to 18 feet from the basket.
That's true, but Heise, Lipsey and Toure also guard perimeter players and rebound at higher rates despite being much shorter. Momcilovic needs to improve his rebounds next year.

With the stupid high prices I pay at HyVee, at least if they chip in for a baller or two, i will continue to go there.

One-trick ponies don't make it to the NBA. Remember Jimmer Fredette? Amazing shooter in college but not much else to his game at all. He was a lottery pick too and completely flamed out almost immediately.

NBA either want elite play-makers or elite 3-and-D guys. Milan is missing the D. If you'd be able to combine Milan and Toure, you'd have a top 5 NBA draft pick.
Kyle Korver, Steve Kerr, Georges Niang, and Doug McDerMott (to name 4 off the bat) say hold our beer. All made/make good money perimeter shooting off the bench.

Crazy thing about the Hy Vee NIL stuff is this. i was at Hy Vee yesterday and saw a Milan advertisment of him and he wasn't in Iowa State gear. Just some generic uniform. Wondered why the poster of him didn't have him in Iowa State gear. Is that normal?

They have to pay extra to the school for the rights to display school gear.

That is why all of the Fareway stuff with Audi, she is usually wearing generic red or some of her NIL gear.

Familiar name here

Solid player but where would he fit in? With Toure, Batemon, Carson, Wiggins, and Gray, we only played 4 guards this year (with Jefferson playing a Point Forward for a lot of the time), at least one of the two freshman will play - is Toure the starting or backup PG? Or, is he kind of an off the ball type guard again? (which is kind of what i would prefer). I don't know if Carson is a PG or SG, so if he's a PG, would he be the starter?

Maybe if Mason Williams didn't get hurt he could have played this year and we could have seen a 5 man rotation? I would have to assume if Carson is coming here, we're probably set on guards and our portal focus will be getting a couple bigs, IMO. Especially if Mommy returns

Yes, that's normal. NIL deals outside the athletics department cannot use the school's logos.

We need to throw the bag at Isaiah Johnson and Neoklis Avdalas
Milan goes pro, absolutely on Avdalas. Even with more $ I don't think we could afford it should Milan stay, & both are slender 6'9"'s who are best at the 3, right? (with different styles on offense)

Don't think we'll have enough either way for Isaiah Johnson, although adding a young, skilled PG like him you take regardless how he fits the roster considering the Fr coming in.

In a perfect world we go get Carson from NDSU, Rancik from Colorado and go find a guy that should be playing DE instead of basketball to provide some muscle as a backup 4. In this perfect world Milan also returns.
