Yes it would have been nice to hoist some hardware but the tourney is the big picture. This is the least upset I’ve been at a loss in a while. Get some rest, heal up as much as you can and kick some ass over the next 3 weeks.
Anyone else see ESPN's graphic not long after the game was over highlighting our two losses after leading by 12? in the Big 12 tournament and losing. Of all the stories to promote, including how amazing the game was, and that Iowa State, while coming up short, still is one of the best teams in the nation, they chose some sort of "choke" narrative. Bull **** story that did NOT fit the moment, imo.
Winning the tourney wasn't getting us a 1 seed. We did enough to secure a 2 seed and show that we are capable of hanging with the best. Did what we needed to do and get extra rest. Mission accomplished.
I saw this immediately on the replay..... loved it. Like I needed yet another reason to love Tamin.
Feels like the focus should have been on Arizona's depth. They have no drop off when going to their bench.
Toure's defense on Bradley's last 2 makes could not have been any better. You play at the highest level & that **** just happens. Lipsey doing that (I missed it - will have to go back to the recording to see it, but it will be a while before I watch that again) shows his elite leadership & undertanding what it takes. As if he needed to display that anymore than he has & he goes & trumps himself. What an all-timer, really aren't words.
No shame boys. Great game. Play that game with a little better rebounding and ISU can win a national championship.
