*** Official Arizona State vs #7 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

ASU will fire him after the tournament is over, I am sure the league has told teams now would not be a good time to fire a coach while the conference tournament is going on. I am sure he knows or at least suspects he is out the door. The university would be reaching out to his agent or the agent talking to the university about their plans for him.
Schools will want to start their coaching search ASAP and the fired coaches will want to start looking for their next job as well has the members of his staff. So they are not waiting for June to fire him, if that is going to occur.
They wouldn't be firing him in June. Not renewing the contract conversation can happen and hiring process can begin right away.

Whatever.

Is June their AD? What is her last name? Does she have a sister that can fire the other Hurley brother?

And don't call me Shirley.

Not renewing the contract is just another form of firing him, without having him get a buyout. They will inform him of their decision not to renew the contract if they have not already done so. Last thing any school wants is to begin the process of hiring a new coach and staff, while the old staff is still on the job.
Recruiting would suffer if they drag this out, and really puts the staff members into a bind if they are going to have a job there next year or not. Bottom line the guy is out.

K State has more excuses than assists. A reflection on their 'leader'.

To be fair, Tamin didn't seem like much of a fan either when he was asked about it yesterday. He said they only got 40 minutes on it but also said that it would "effect the game". He said some people had better traction than others so they were looking at differences in shoes.

Arizona State will have an advantage of playing on that stupid ass court. With all the talk about the court, hopefully our guys settle into it fine. We could also break their spirit in the first half easily enough but with anyone's last game of the season... no one wants to give up.

That was my point. I'm not sure why you arguing with me. They can inform him immediately that his contract is not being renewed and he can clear out his office - he will be paid through the duration of his contract.

He is going to get paid one way or another, not arguing with you, but saying they are not firing him when they are not renewing the contract is splitting hairs here.
Why would they wait till June, they will not, he knows that, and so does the school. Not renewed, fired it makes zero difference when his contract is up and he will not be coaching there next season. Bet the players are already being contacted about transferring.

Unrelated to the game itself but I'm heading down tomorrow....what are the best parking options that are near the P&L/T-Mobile Center?

Thinking the guys get rolling offensively this game. Would love to see an 80-65 type game
