Washington State University is searching for a new athletic director after firing Anne McCoy in November 2025. She served in the role for less than 18 months and was the subject of a national search. Jon Haarlow, the chief operating officer, is serving as the interim AD until a new director is named.
  • Previous AD: Anne McCoy was fired on November 12, 2025. She had worked at WSU since 2001 and was promoted to the AD position in June 2024 after serving as interim AD since March 2024.
  • Reason for departure: While the exact reasons for her dismissal were not immediately clear, sources told ESPN that the move was not for cause.
  • Interim AD: Jon Haarlow, the chief operating officer for WSU athletics, has been named interim AD.
  • Search for new AD: WSU is conducting a national search for its next athletic director, who will lead the university into its new phase of Pac-12 membership.

Ooo! Ooo! Mr. Kotter. Can we trade Jamie to Wash. State in exchange for Rogers? You know, that Athletic Director to be named later. / sarcasm

And this means what exactly for Iowa State?

Seems like some of us need to take a step back off from the ledge

I'm thinking it means the AD that hired him left, so he's moving on.

Or it could mean he expects the new AD to fire him, so, WTH, let's go with ISU.
Or he was offered a P4 job, giving him a much better opportunity to make a name for himself as a coach while also getting a pay raise for his family

I cant predict or guess what it means. It could be motive for the move? I thought it could be relevant. Thats all.

Thank you guys. I don't know ISU's exact budget #, but that WSU budget sounds way lower than ours.
Wazzu has always been lower than everyone Oregon St was lower but kinda similar. They'll remain in the upper tier of G5 budgets but no where near where they were before they pretty much got the death penalty

Either Wazzu or Oregon St is really financially in trouble in the AD. Can't remember which school but one is severely having issues.

Obviously it means she's available for when we push JP out!

Pretty sure it was Wazzu.

Pretty sure it's Wazzu but Oregon state's AD is a ******** now. They still get a tiny bit of Daddy Knights money.

Funny thing is Oregon St could run CFB is their rich alumni actually cared anything about sports. They have the Nvidia founder and someone else.
