Today I learned that it’s called Alcon State after James L. Alcon, who was the governor of Mississippi when the university was founded. That would make about as much sense as calling ISU “Lowe State”, since Ralph Lowe was the governor of Iowa in 1858.

I figured it was some spell check feature insisting you spell Alcorn as Alcon. I hate it when it actually makes a correctly spelled post into an incorrectly spelled one....Does it all the time.
