The Long Walk (movie)

Was unfamiliar about the book until recently and story line.

In seeing ads on YT recently, they gave me a Stand By Me vibe- but a darker. Just watching the constant walking in the Trailer makes me tired!

Enjoyed the book. Not sure how this will work as a movie, but reading generally good reviews.
Same here. The book was ahead of its time, considering the success of stuff like the Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Squid Game, etc. I wasn't surprised at all when I saw it was being made into a movie.

The book was definitely ahead of its time, as was The Running Man...although the movie was nothing like the book there.

I’m hoping the Edgar Wright version of the running man is more true to the book. Not wild about Glen Powell in the lead though.

I don't know what to think about him. I think he's a decent enough actor, but some of the roles he picks... Twisters, for example, was terrible.

Same. He’s good when he stays in his lane and isn’t the lead like in Top Gun: Maverick but as a lead actor he wears thin about 30 minutes into a movie.

I actually preferred Twisters to Twister but only because I think the original is awful.

I did like the book, but it had the typical Stephen King terrible ending. A second book would have been good.

I'm going to see the movie so I can compare it to the images in my head.

I'm so old I read The Long Walk by Richard Bachman before any one knew it was Stephen King. I was a big fan of King and remember thinking at the time that this Bachman guy writes a lot like Stephen King....

See it. Go see it. It’s really good. Went with seven others and everyone said it was great but pretty heavy and intense. Don’t be surprised if you tear up as welll.
