    Departures?

Just plain gave it up. Too bad, cause I liked him and thought he had an important role as a pooch punter. Also a central Iowa kid.

    ISU vs WVU Postgame

May not be one of your favs but to say it lacked importance is a narrrow view. This was the largest comeback victory in major college footall last year and was extremely important for the psyche of the program heading into the offseason. The returning players that experienced it will be stonger...

Is it fair that ISU is on this list?

I quit reading after the writer inferred that our basketball team is not a national power. If you want to reach back 100 years and evaluate a "program" based on the past, more power to you. I see the ISU football program going forward as a program on the rise. We're building the third biggest...

    Column: Don't sleep on Sam

I really think it is Mangino's offense. That was part of the deal. CPR is not an offensve guy and you don't get Mangino unless you give him complete control over the offense.

Hitting kicks into the goal posts.....

That's a good one Dual. Last year FBS teams were 57% form 40-49 yards and 50% from 50+. Iowa State actually brought those averages up last year.

It's time for Cole Netten to do the kicks!!

Iowa State first offered a kid from Texas, Nick Jordan, a top three kicker nationally in the class of 2012. He kicks for Texas. He's missed an extra point and is 3 for 7 on FG attempts.

New players listed on roster now

Let's be realistic here...only 8 starting FBS kickers made more than 87% of their FGs last year.

ISU Appears on "10 Plays that Shaped the CFB Season"

Interestingly 3 of the 10 were the result of missed FGs inside 40 yards. Okie State's miss against us for the lead with a minute+ to go could have been included as well. And Bama's missed FG's against LSU... Happens to the best of 'em. I hope we remember that the next time we meltdown over...

    Netten

He was actually 63% (15/24) going into his sr year. Most misses were beyond of 40 yards.

    FOOTBALL RECRUITING: In-state kicker commits

Re: Cyclones land place-kicker from where else... Netten is near 90% (17/19) inside 42 yds in his HS career excluding 2 blocked kicks. Most of his misses were long FGs. ISU has recruited nationally for kickers this year offering three kids from Ohio, Texas, and Florida, respectively. 2 of...
