JTS Improvements - Want More

I’m a bit confused.

I know that they raised the level of the lots (and the future CyTown), to put it above the flood plain. I figure the contractor who did it reasonably knew what they were doing, and had the entire area flat and at the same level, as the lots went in.

So…why have they been peeling soil off the (soon to be) MacFarland lot, and trucking it away? This isn’t the first time, either.

Seems counterproductive—and not just having that one lot at a lower level.

They do seem to be preparing it for paving now, as well.
Speaking of the raised ground, it really is apparent if you go toward Hilton where the tunnels were on the east side of the parking lot. Last spring i noticed that you are at street level now.

Just for fun, I’ll add here.

Years ago, I was driving into downtown Des Moines, maybe on Ingersoll, and I saw the framework of a multistory building going up.

Hanging from the side of it was an immense banner that simply read STEEL ERECTION. No company logo, name, nothing else.

I eyed that as I drove past, and thought, “Well, at least they have self confidence”.

Noticed Saturday that there were folks on lifts, doing some kind of work on the exterior of the central elevator shaft. No idea what. Oddly, my attention was elsewhere.

Also, FYI, the former B5 is shaping up not to resemble the other new lots.

Update for those interested. I’m not going to pretend to understand everything going on here. Trucked in a bunch of soil, presumably for landscaping. The footprint is starting to take shape.

Years ago, they had a webcam out at the Towers. I think when they were building the soccer/softball complex. Girls would go out in that open field to sunbathe and you could actually take control of the camera to zoom in on them. Fun times.

Sigh. I used to have to accidentay stroll past Friley Beach in person.

(I didn’t live in Friley. Or Helser)

Wow. That the second time now that someone decided to post the same idiotic thing.

Mocking people putting smiles on the faces of seriously ill kids. Don’t you feel proud?
I dont think anyone criticizes them for waving at the kids. What people criticize is them using it as a publicity stunt, all the while being absolute jackwagons, and a way to make them look righteous.

Its the same thing as they have done with ANF, then using anything ag related as a derogatory term for ISU.

Their virtue signaling is the issue, not the sick kids.

You know what?

There’s no separating the two. Literally mocking waving at a clinic.

So there is no separating someone waving at a kid to be nice, and someone bragging about it to make themselves look good? Please, you absolutely can separate the two.

These are the same people that threw a full beer at a pregnant woman's head on live TV.

Read it again.

In what was posted, there is no separation. No distinction in who was being mocked. Just waving at a medical facility.

And even, “Oh, I wasn’t mocking ALL of them, just the 1% who are virtue signalling!” is really, really really lame.

But you folks keep rationalizing all you want. Everyone knows, we have our ugly fans too.
