Update

Me too. He's got decent heighth is he just going to be another Wes Eikemeier though?? Not saying anything bad about him but..didnt get any playing time.
Similar game...much stronger than Eik.

He only averaged 1 point a game, because he got hurt his freshman year. He then transfered to Iowa State. He has talent and I hope/think he will be able to drive to the basket and give the team something they have been missing. He is also a pretty good 3 point shooter.

How is a 15 year old getting all of this info???:biggrin:

They were saying he did appear in every game for Marquette and was ranked by rivals too? So could be good I suppose.

DG/Colvin
Lucca
Gilstrap/Lucca
Dendy
Ham

DG/Buck
Colvin
Gilstrap
Dendy
JVB

Lucca is not athletic enough to start...I would rather see Booz coming of the bench before Lucca

Thanks for the updates!!

I hope we land some of these guys, and I hope they're as good as advertised!

I sure am ready for some good basketball!

Personally next year I'd go:

Buckley
Garrett
Gilstrap
Dendy
Hamilton

With guys like Lucca, Boozer, and Colvin seeing significant time off the bench

I don't understand playing Garrett at the 2. He has proven he isn't a great shooter and can't finish. If he isn't bringing the ball up what will he do?

I agree...DG at the point or nothing...We would be a better team with him and Colvin or Buck and Colvin in the game at the same time...

it doesnt matter if DG cant shoot well. the reality is that Gilstrap will start at the 3 and that Lucca is not fast or athletic enough to play the 2 in the big 12. therefore, it will be any combonation of Colvin/Buck/Garrett/Christopherson that will start at the 1 and 2

That lineup doesn't excite me much at all. If we get Thames and he and Colvin are as good as advertised, then I think we go with a three guard line-up. We need to get our best athletes on the floor.

Colvin/Garrett
Thames/Boozer
Christopherson/Lucca
Gilstrap/Dendy
Hamilton/Pomlee

Basically, I'm hoping at least 3-4 of the new guys are significantly better than what we have returning. If not, it could be another very loooong season.

If you look at our most recent turnarounds, they were all helped by an infusion of at least 2-3 new players. Willoughby, Pratt and Cato in 1995. Tinsley and Horton in 1999. Stinson and Blalock in 2003. Take Brackins off next year's team and we need a lot of help.

It is going to be hard for Colvin and Thames (if we get him) to come in and start right away. It usually takes a while for freshman to get use to college ball. I wouldn't expect to much out of them right away.

I am ready to start taking wagers. How many people want to bet me that Lucca starts next year? I am looking for action and feel extremely confident he will

Also, what is the difference b/w a 1 and 2. Honestly? The one brings the ball up the court but after that you have 3 to 4 perimeter guys (depending on the lineup) and a guy down low.
