Mecca of MLB

Hate the Yankees but whenever I decide to finally go to NYC it will be when they're in town regardless of who they're playing.

Envy coming from my living room near Mpls.

Although it might kill me as a Yankee fan to finally make it to Yankee Stadium and not see Judge play and have Stroman pitching.

I’ve been to NYC one time. When we got there the Yankees had 3 games left in the season. They win one, and they host a 1 game wildcard spot against the Red Sox. We got tickets.

They proceeded to lose all three games. I never liked the Tankees but man I cannot stand them now.

Please show me on the doll where George Steinbrenner hurt you.

Looks like OP got good action for 4.5 innings, 7-4 game ( Yanks up) with lots of runs.

But than NY turned into Iowa and it poured rain.

I've never been to the new ballpark, probably went to the old one 7-8 times.
They used to sell beer to practically anyone. I bought beer there when I was 16 or 17.
Of course it was Schlitz.

My first time in NYC was in 1987. Took the train in from NJ to see the Yankees vs. the Red Sox. Walked up and bought a ticket easily. Some guy named Roger Clemons for the Red Sox won his 20th game that night on his way to to his second Cy Young award. That was in the old Stadium. Been to the new Stadium too to see the Reds play, but the first time in the old stadium was super special.

That soulless, corporate ballpark is far from the Mecca of the MLB. The old one might have been, but not the new one
Just because it isn’t a total ******** like Old Yankee Stadium was? They did a solid job bringing in the design features from pre-renovation Old Yankee Stadium and post-renovation Old Yankee Stadium. The facility itself was barely better than the piece of **** the A's called a stadium.

Something being old doesn’t make it great. Most of the time it means ********.

What a ****** facility for football though. Goodness.

Went to the old stadium in the 90’s after taking the train in from Jersey and then the subway. Stadium was the worst run down facility I’ve ever been in, cement was cracked, crumbling with grass growing in the cracks. But it fit right in with the neighborhood. Everybody in the USA needs to spend time in NYC and they will never complain about where they live again.

Same thing with Rosemblatt In Omaha. People still lament it being torn down. It was a complete dump and people act like it was some sort of shining jewel.

I really hated the Yankees growing up but have grown to hate them less in the Judge era. Beyond my feelings, NYC is iconic and def wanna visit Yankees Stadium some day.
