Received a email that Jeff is retiring on Sept 1 this yr. Wish him well in his retirement and with his Parkinson challenge. IMO they are some pretty big shoes to fill. I think he did a good job of growing the Association. Even though I'm a long ways from a big donor he always had a handshake and a hello for me whenever I ran into him somewhere. It'll be interesting to see who gets that position as well as who gets selected as the next ISU president.

My old boss. Was a grad student in the AA way way back. He’s an amazing person. Not sure who they can land to replace him. That’s gonna be tough.

I get a lot of people didn't like it, but I didn't mind him doing the cheerleading for a while before games. Have to give the guy credit, he always brought the energy. Sorry to hear he's dealing with Parkinsons.

JJ is an awesome guy! I don't know how many times I would run into him on flight back to DSM from Chicago or Dallas. He would see me or I would see him and we would just laugh at each other it happened that often. Class act guy and everyone is correct that he will leave some big shoes to fill the position.

Need a good public speaker willing to tell a story.

Sign me up for Eric Hansen.

I am not sure they will "replace" him as a president/CEO of the ISUAA. I believe the Foundation and the ISUAA are "merging". He will be missed...however, him leaving is a good time to look at this merger of organizations.

Agree 100%. I know "non planned" traditions always are what is preferred (like how the Juicy Wiggle took off)....but back when he did that we were still kind of trying to turn the corner.....and now the "cyclone power" chant can be heard on tv for both home and some away events.

As others have said, have always appreciated his energy, passion, and what he brought to continue to solidify what it means to be a Cyclone.

We met him at the Omaha zoo 5 or 6 years ago and he talked to us for a long time. We still have the family picture with us and him on our fridge.

Parkinsons is a bastard of a disease. I wish him the best path forward possible.
