Hy-Vee sent us an email informing us that we won two club passes for the 12th and 13th. We never signed up for anything, but we do shop at Hy-Vee occasionally and are perk members. My nephew races a IMCA Modified here in eastern Iowa, and I help with the car, so my wife and I are both race fans. I've watched Indy races on TV, but I've never attended one in person, so we decided to accept the passes and may go to the event.

Is it a good event?

Thanks!

Went to both the Nascar and Indy race last year. Nascar race was so much more fun but if someone gave me free tickets to the Indy race I would go again.

I took my wife to the Indy race because she wanted to see the comcerts. She watched 2 laps of racing and spent the rest of the time enjoying the air conditioning in the club section.

I'll be there. Went to both Indy and Nascar last year, and doing both this year too.

Was spoiled last year though for Indy, as I was given 2 hard cards so we could go anywhere in the infield/garage/pit road and bypass the lines to get into the grand stands.

Nobody is going because the concerts are gone. The race last year sucked because of the track. They only repaved part of the surface and nobody could pass.

They didn't do anything to the track in the last year, so they're hoping car setups can make it a better race. Nobody knows if it will be.

Yea, it's a good time. Last year the racing was a little lackluster with the repave, but they are trying to get that dialed in and IndyCar teams were just practicing there this week.

@isufbcurt did you ever push this car into the wall?;)

I'm guessing different classes, but I don't know.

No that’s a modified and I race late model. But I know that driver.

Here’s a little video from a race last weekend.

Racing in Corning tonight.

Indy did tire tests on Wednesday at the track. General consent was that track was better and that upper passing groove would actually work this year.

I think it's a combination of cost and the double header. Iowa Speedway does not need 2 races. Attendance was much better than today in the pre concert/doubleheader era.

It's a shame because the weather out here was perfect, and it was an entertaining race. Ran into Blum and family taking their kids to their first race.

Good race. Seem like there were lots of dumb yellow flags. However, I’m glad they were able to finish under green.
