Doesn’t sound great for those missing campers. I can’t imagine the helpless feeling of those parents. I’ve got to imagine they’re not even able to get to the camp to help.

But, the Lt Gov probably shouldn’t have mentioned being up in a tree with the way the trees were getting wiped out. In those situations just say as little as possible and to keep them in your prayers.

Imagine you live in an area that gets alerts every time it rains for potential flooding but it never amounts to any real damage.

Now imagine you get yet another alert at 1:14 am. How seriously are you taking that alert?

That was the primary problem.

They sent out alerts at 4am and around 4:45 am that flooding was happening and people should evacuate but that wouldn't help people who turned the alerts off or had their cell phones off.

By 530 it was too late the water had arrived.
