I think Mick is trying to market himself for that spot. I don't think they give it to him

Eh... idk he's done REALLY well in WEC, like usually has the fastest lap times in a lot of the races.

I do wonder, had Ayao been TP at Haas, would Mick still be in F1? gotta wonder, Haas is doing wonders for Esteban, he seems to have found the fun again in F1.

If Herta finishes 4th or better in the series he'll have enough points. That's not where he is now but he was runner up last year so I don't think it's out of the question.

Herta is a solid driver. He is no Palou though. Palou is basically Max but in Indy. Max is a better driver that Alex, however, Alex is the guy everyone is trying to beat in Indy and usually they don't unless Alex get's wrecked. I would love to see how he did in F1. Not sure how close he is to having a super license though.

Palou has a Super License. You need 40 points to qualify and winning the series title in Indycar is worth 40 points. If Herta had finished in second of the F2 series last year he'd also have enough points for his Super License.

Here's the breakdown of points by series if you're interested. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIA_Super_Licence

I also think it's crazy that some of the driver's in Indy don't have a super license. If you are driving an Indy car, you are going faster than any F1 car. Indy 500 is extreme speed. They also do road courses. To say Indy driver's need the F1 liense is weird. It should be given to them. Tons of Indy driver's have gone on to drive F1 at high levels.

Who? people who come to Indy from F1 usually fair better than the reverse

Edit: Mario, Villeneuve, and Montoya.

There haven’t been many guys start in Indycar and go to F1. Villeneuve was the last one 30ish years ago. Lots of guys wash out from F1 and end up in Indycar though. I do think Indycar is on par with F2 but you’ll never see equal points between them because the FIA will never admit that Indycar is on par with anything they’ve doing.

Seems like Kirkwood is getting the most support from that team at the moment. They have 3 cars but it seems like they can only ever compete with one of them.

That second RB car/seat is something else.

At this point have to assume the Red Bull cars just suck and Max is just that damn good. No other way to explain it. All of the drivers that have been in that second seat have proven themselves. So it’s not the driver. It’s the car and Max is just a wizard behind the wheel

My thoughts as well. I’m sure the car design is tilted towards Max, but even then, there is no way the RB car is top tier this year.
