Nobody knows what Iowa St will look like from 133-165 and nobody knows what Iowa will look like from 149-174. Talking about cyhawk at this point is just guessing.
That's the fun of wrestling forums in the summer ;) get the hype machine going and once again convince myself that this is the year we beat Iowa!

What weight did he wrestle at two years ago?
Where the team needed him. You can think it's just fans and not believe me if you don't want to. Go back and look at some of my posts and things I have said before they happen. Not saying this will happen im just saying I'm not making things up

And how exactly is that any different than any other time until who walks out on the mat during the actual cyhawk?

It's not just for that dual. Currently Dresser and Tom don't even know what the line up will be. Dresser will tell you that right now. Text or call him and ask he's a straight shooter he won't hesitate

My point is if you thinks it’s pointless to talk about now then it is pointless to talk about ever because the expected lineup is different than who steps on the mat on the night of the dual.

True you did say Carr couldn’t win in Ames right before he won.

Things are really starting to shape and I had to do this just to break it down for myself and see if ISU has a chance. I’m putting out both teams best lineup.

125 - Poulin Dec Peterson. Stevo won the h2h at NCAA. 3-0 ISU
133 - Ayala Dec Ortega 3-3
141 - Frost Dec Bailey. Repeat of NCAA. 6-3 ISU
149 - Ech Dec Estrada. 9-3
157 - Caliendo Dec Paniro. 9-6
165 - Kennedy Dec Euton. 9-9
174 - Arnold Dec MJ. 12-9 Iowa
184 - Ferrari maj Dean 16-9 Iowa
197 - Elam Dec Endene 16-12
285 - Bastida Dec Kueter. 16-15

Guys this is going be a tight one. Iowa has more sure things. Hard to see them losing at 57-84. Some of these matchups could get kind of wonky. Let’s hope we get both teams at full strength.
I simultaneously love that you have Ortega in the lineup and hate that you have him losing to Ayala.

Did the Ortega thing get announced officially yet or are we all just hoping? I've been out of the loop.

U posted the 165 /174 from Iowa like it was a fact that's why this conversation between us started. I was just saying nobody knows. Carry on

Like what?

Tampering really doesn't exist. I think Iowa st likes 125 133 141 149 157 165 174 HWT. Needs are 184 197. Dean Rider for sure is a possibility but likes VA tech. Currently AJ and Cotton for 197. Elam will probably enter the portal at 197 but has been rumored to Iowa. Elam had multiple surgeries this season so not sure when he will be available.

Oklahoma would be my guess for AJ

IMO it would be absolutely idiotic for Caliendo to cut to 157.
A) He hasn't been consistently that light for years.
B) Mess is the only game in town at 165 and Caliendo has been trending closer.
C) 57 has to contend with Taylor, Kaasak, Shapiro, Cardenas. Probably not on Mess level, but certainly capable.

On the other hand, it would not surprise me in the least to see TnT force him down and have it fail spectacularly. I don't particularly wish that on Caliendo as he seems like a decent enough kid, but...

Last year Nebraska cut a few guys down and it helped that team. Nobody knows what will happen yet. Would it result in more team points from 157-74 I say it probably would. If Williams and Alvarez both end up at Iowa I could see them at 149 157 and Mikey stays 165. Without Williams and Voinivich/Estrada at 157 we could see Mikey 157. Mikey was the one who brought it up to teammates a few weeks after NCAA . He closed the gap on Mesenbrink the last thing a coach wants to do is bring up going down a weight and make him think you don't believe he can beat Mesenbrink.
Duke will be the starter at 157 with Kasak taking a RS if I had to guess

Anything can happening in the long wrestling season too. There’s no way hamiti would have beat a fully healthy o’toole this year but it happened. Maybe messenbrink gets dinged up in the tourney and calendio beats him. Bastida should have gotten at least 2nd two years ago and doesn’t place. Caliendo should 100% stay where he is and train like he’s going to take mess down because there is def some luck involved with finishing first

Like what?
Said Dean would visit. Chittum to Chattanooga. I believe Flynn. A few more go look. You obviously took time to look before. Like I said before believe me or don't but Mikey to 157 wasn't just fans . He himself brought it up to teammates a few weeks after NCAA

It’s a complete unknown if he can handle the cut or not.

You are completely ignoring how this benefits the team. Some people are willing to make sacrifices for the good of the team, and it is undeniably a better team with him at 57. If that doesn’t happen you squeeze either Arnold or Kennedy out of the lineup and replace them with Estrada or Voinavich who don’t have near the same point potential.

Williams is still a possibility and he would probably be the 157
