Casey’s Sucks

I mean back when I worked at Casey's, this was indirectly often the case lol. (responding to the earlier post about being sentenced to work at Casey's)

No drug tests, immediate hire (they'll find something for you), laughable background check (if any). And back then the pay was pretty competitive compared to other similarly attainable options (given you had a rap sheet, didn't wanna quit the drugs, or a terrible resume of course...often a combination of all 3)

I mean, you may or may not have been able to buy w**d from the GM's boyfriend...at both small town locations (allegedly)

Correct me if I’m wrong: Casey’s bought out the few locations still owned by local owner franchisees several years ago and every store is corporate owned now. Casey’s also bought Kum & Go but left the logo on some of the stores.
Casey's bought Bucky's. Kum and Go is owned by the same group that owns Maverik. Have only been in a Maverik a couple times but it's as clean as a gas station can be and the chorizo breakfast burritos are better than anything I've ever had at Casey's. Don't think Maverik has made it to Iowa yet.

One of the big appeals of an electric vehicle to me is the knowledge that I’ll basically never have to go to a gas station again.

Casey's does NOT own Buc-ee's.

Caseys killing off all the cold subs at the old Handimart locations was the one of the stupidest moves they could make. I'm sure those were cutting into Pizza sales though.

Kwik Stars stores are massive compared to Casey’s, and they don’t seem to be having trouble hiring people that actually care about how their stores look.
14 to 17 dollars/hr and 40% profit sharing improve your attitude. I've seen both those numbers depending on the town I've been in.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a business model offering an electric vehicle charging station that also provides a place to use a bathroom and load up with food items....you know a convenience store:)

I can imagine how almost everyone I know could live to be 1000 years old, use the same bathroom all 1000 years, never clean it one time...and it would still be far cleaner than half of gas station bathrooms and not just slightly less gross, wildly more usable. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? It can't just be little kids, it has to be intentional.
I was once relaying to my wife how gross and disgusting a men's restroom was at a convenience store and I was shocked to hear from her that women are every bit as disgusting in public restrooms.

Once upon a time, I worked for a small company as a team manager. Our cleaning person quit, at one point, and in the time between then and when we hired a new one, the managers were asked to do nightly cleaning.

I can attest that the women's bathroom was significantly worse than the men's. Not even close.

The new cleaning person couldn't get hired quick enough.

That wasn't my experience in my jobs in high school/college. Guys just be shitting everywhere.

Hard disagree! Casey's were solid when they still had franchise stores. They bought all of those back like 15 years ago.
They started to buy back stores after ending the franchise system in the mid 80's. Today they are 100% owned by Casey's corp. They have spent so much of their resources in expanding that they had let stores in the smaller towns slide. They have been replacing older stores with newer ones more frequently the past 10 years or so. Replaced the store in Corydon last year, and the one in Centerville is less than five years old.

Genuine question... how do road trips work out? Are you one of the folks I see stopped sitting outside of like a Quality Inn that has a charging station next to I-80 in Nebraska?

Most charging stations are near gas stations/rest stops/fast food. So just take 30 minutes to relax and grab a quick bite vs taking 10 minutes and eating a sandwich while you drive.
