I don't agree with the obstruction call. Tech cashes it in for a run.
Unreal, what was Tech doing throwing the intentional walk pitches that close to the plate?
Hope I'm wrong but that's a type of loss that I think is going to be tough to come back from for Tech. Also not sure if they have enough offense either.

If it’s anything like baseball the catcher is required to stay in the catcher’s box directly behind home plate until the pitch is delivered.
I despise Texas, but this is exactly why you throw the pitches. Being able to say, in baseball, “We are walking this guy.” Is complete BS.
You have to be in the catchers box but doesn't mean you can't throw 10 mph 5 feet off the plate. Why she was even close to the plate is ridiculous
I wonder if it is like the yips in golf where she just can't purposely throw a ball that far away from the plate? There were 2 other pitches in that at bat that were probably just as close or closer as well.
They mentioned it on the broadcast. They were challenging batter interference. The batter walked across the plate as the catcher was throwing down to second. If they had called interference on the batter, the runner would’ve been out and game over.
Not sure if the umpire interference made that call/challenge possible or not.
Only thing I can think of is its hard to throw across your body underhand but she still could've set her feet differently

The broadcast made it sound like the reason UT challenged the batter interference was because the umpire interference had already occurred. Almost like if the umpire interference hadn't occurred, it would've changed the whole situation.
