‘25 Roster Is Out

What does our WR depth chart look like for the fall?
Roughly?

X Chase Sowell, Dominic Overby
M Xavier Townsend, Eli Green, Carson Brown
Z Brett Eskildsen, Daniel Jackson, Kai Black

…with Michael Parkes recovering, Dyllan Malone having reported early, and Karon Brookins and Zay Robinson arriving shortly.

Oh, and Carson Robbins apparently impressed this spring as well, while Carson Brown was out.

Also, I think I heard that Aiden Flora was working at both RB and M, but I might have misheard.

the TE room is going to be really good, but i don't think the WR room will be used less necessarily. I just think the catches will be spread out more evenly between both groups
If they're good enough. I'm not convinced they will be much of a threat. I'm expecting 13 personnel often.

Fair point. But i think we are all grossly underestimating the WR room.

TBH if you would have told me last year we would have 2, 1000 yard plus receivers, im not sure i would have believed you

I definitely think WR catches will be down and TE catches will be up. And that’s because Brahmer is our best pass catcher. I doubt we get to 2020 levels where 13 personnel was basically our base offense and the only WR that had a bunch of catches was Hutchinson. But, I doubt believe we’ll see more 13 than 11…I think a majority will be 12.

I hope so but I haven't been wrong about it in the past with Campbell teams. Hopefully I'll be eating crow.

Hmm. Not much of a threat?

I’ve heard multiple people say that Xavier Townsend is close to a copy of Jaylin Noel. Only slightly bigger.

Chase Sowell is parallel to Higgins as a junior, albeit a different style.

The coaches mentioned this spring the two had put on twelve and fourteen pounds since arriving.

Then we’ve got two guys in Eskildsen and Overby who both ran legit (rounding to the nearest tenth) 10.5 100m’s, the two fastest wideouts ever to see the field for ISU.

And neither one is small.

Guess we’ll see, huh?

I've heard much of that hype already. Measures only matter if you can make it happen on game day. I'm not down on them but compared to what we had last year I expect a drop in production.

I also know that Mouse likes TE and Brahmer is a legit talent imo. Burkle is strong as well, then Alexander, Moore and with Kai Black moving to TE I just don't see them being underutilized. I'm betting on running the ball more since the receiving room are largely new to the program and you don't normally see that clicking until later on, like Higgins for example.

Brahmer staying healthy is the X factor though. Without him anchoring the TE's, need to go to the WRs more.

For sure. Alexander was getting massive hype last year, being compared to Ben. I'm bullish on the TE room. They also have the highest GPA on the team.

That’s not “hype”, it’s simple facts.

If you think that Mouser and Campbell are pulling back on the throttle, you must not have listened to them last year.

Don't you dare get my hopes up. I've been looking for that moment for a long time, even before Campbell. We've never been able to make that step towards being the team who can just impose their will. Also, Campbell has always been on the conservative side. I'll believe it when I see it.

We’ve never won double digit games.
Campbell can’t beat Iowa.
We always have slow starts.
We can’t win a bowl game.
We’ve never had a first round pick.

We’re running out of “nevers”.
