Its funny, Gary Payton was an ahole, always looked mad, ******** nonstop, talking trash, totally serious all the time but his kid is always smiling and joking around.

big difference between growing up in the 60s and 70s in east oakland as just some kid versus growing up as the son of an NBA HOFer.

Even the mere suggestion of Wemby and Giannis together on the same team is too much for my brain to handle
I wonder if those two would be enought to contend? What else would they need? I love Giannis...but I don't want him to go to Houston...Houston would be great (depending upon what a trade between those two teams would look like)...but for some reason if Giannis is moving...I want him to stay in the Eastern Conference.

Yeah nobody is buying that it isn’t rigged. Just get rid of the stupid thing. They totally want to place players with certain teams.
The NBA rigging the draft to favor two teams (Denver and SA) that have drawn really bad TV numbers in the playoffs is a bold move.

Edit - meant to say Dallas and SA. I get the pay back for Luka idea, but the NBA absolutely does not want teams like the Mavs or Spurs becoming powers.

I don’t understand why Houston would rip this team apart to get Giannis. Be patient and get a shooter. The team will grow into a winner.

And did Nico make a deal with the league before the Luka trade to get the #1 pick? That’s a lot of **** he took, but if it ever came out he may be seen as a savior. AD + Flagg for Luka seems like a reasonable trade if not a win for Dallas.

If that is at all true, how would you be able to keep it a secret?

You definitely wouldn't.

Someone said on Dan Patrick that rigging the lottery is a federal crime. Not sure they could keep all the mouths shut to pull off a rigged lottery.

All the talk had been that Nico had some obsession with AD for a long time. I think after the playoffs last year there was hope that Luka might be able to defend at a passable level, but he's been pretty horrible this year on that end of the floor.

It was a bad trade, but a GM outthinking himself or letting ego get in the way is a pretty common thing in sports.
