Apparently Houston can compete. Dont need a committed fanbase, just need a billionaire (Fritatta, or whatever rf his name is) to buy players.

As far as being a feeder system, how many people watch AAA baseball? I can already feel myself becoming a much more casual fan, i missed some bball games on tv this year even, after having season tix for over a decade.

Yeah I can't waste anymore time riding the highs/lows of recruiting and then actually letting it affect my mood. Jefferson was a stud and a good kid and it sucks....but I'm to the point just going to wait and see who's actually in uniform.

Got rid of ESPN 2 months ago. Don’t miss it at all. Worst case, I will listen to Walters on the radio once or twice a year, then watch the replay on YouTube .

Current NIL/portal process is synonymous with SNAFU FUBAR and BOHICA.

If you are here panicking or complaining about kids leaving for more money ask yourself if you are doing enough. Are you giving to we will? If you care enough to be on this board reading through this post I'm guessing you care enough to give a dollar a day to be competitive. If everyone that helped fill hilton every game gave 1 dollar a day it would be 5 million a year alone. We either need to accept our fate moving forward or do something about it. It sucks we are being expected to do more but we are here like it or not.

Just like in day to day life, the separation between the billionaires and us non billionaire scum will only grow.

I am curious what happens when media companies are left on the hook with giant contracts to broadcast a product the general public has mostly lost interest in. At some point regulation is in everyone’s best interest.
People like to say this but the big markets are owned by the rich leagues so ratings will not take the hit you think they will. Us rural/mid market folks don’t move the dial and the reality is several of us will continue to watch because “sports”.

What is on ESPN 2 to cut out and was it a special add on?

That's some 1993 stuff. No complaints haha.

If this isn't true, do you agree to a ban?
I thought this was what this forum was for, to get and confirm cyclone information? Didn’t realize you and your tag along friends were the judge and the jury to ban people who post! All I did was simple post something that I heard from a very reliable source, looking to see if anyone else had heard the same information, and guess what, others have confirmed on here they have heard it also! Are you and your bully friends going threaten a ban on them too! Go away!!

Or ask yourself if you’re getting fleeced. This MFer out here asking for a “dollar a day” like a freaking starving children in Africa infomercial Jesus this is sad, but also don’t be trying to part people with their money.

I’m not so sure. During my time in Chicago I’d say the college sports fans there had to be alums and my time in LA even people who are alums of a P5 type school aren’t college sports fans. It seems like Joe casual is watching pro sports.

College sports is more about personal connection to the brand. Watching Houston last night was a rare non-ISU cbb gane game for me and I watched it mainly because Houston was repoing Big 12 under assault…basically still because of ISU.

This is even more reason not to give. You think LSU's donor base is paying for Jefferson and this guy from Omaha? The general public has zero say in this anymore. The corporations and rich donors are obviously running this.

LSU is a poverty program in a poverty state in a, lifeless basketball arena, with a no-name coach, that cant even provide basic necessities for their citizens and yet they can come up with this kind of money for basketball? At a football powerhouse? You guys are being conned.

Even moreso than alums it’s highly regional. Specifically the Southeast and Midwest.

Very few west of the Mississippi or in NY/NE care about college sports at all. Or if they care it’s very much secondarily to other activities and professional sports

The more you post, the more I’m convinced you live in your parents basement and operate a drive-thru for a living

Yeah if the big city is a pro sports market, those teams will always get top billing.

And like I said, that's your choice accept your fate. It sounds like jefferson will stay of we get from 1.2 to 2 million. That million i spoke of isn't ever gonna compete with sec money but it certainly sounds like it could help us hold on to our core 4 this year.

My next door neighbor happens to be a big Arizona fan and I’m not kidding you he’s the only college sports fan I’ve met in 12 years in LA. I have some friends who are San Diego State alums, they watch UFC and NFL but did not even know San Diego State made the Final Four, I called them during the game and that’s how they found out.
