Hard to know who will be here then
Exactly. I like this recruiting class, but I'm going to protect myself emotionally until this staff consistently puts an emphasis on getting these guys on the court. TJ seems to embrace the portal and being older/established players.
The only 3 freshman he's played at meaningful minutes have been Hunter (no other pg option), Lipsey (injury forced him into a starting role), Momcilovic.
I'll wear the nutcup next season while a lot of people on here may be losing their minds on playing time.
We'll also see what they do with this last 2 guard portal move. If they aren't a sure starter then it might be a by committee position

Hopefully TJ is learning and will get some of the youngsters a little more developmental PT besides the final 1:26 of a blowout.

I don't understand why the new AD at ASU brought Bobby Hurley back for another year. They are going to be absolutely terrible next year. And there was no excitement around the team this year. ISU's women's team averaged 2000 more fans per home game than ASU's men's team. I heard they wanted to save money on the buy out and wait for when Hurley's contract is up after next season, but they are going to hit rock bottom.

He has only one more year in his contract

Not easy to get cash to make a change less than a year early

Because nobody at Arizona state cares about basketball so why fire him, make a payout for him and then have to get a new coach. Just let his contract run out and get a new guy

Very odd. Another one of his pods I’ll just pass on.
It's on the Iowa Everywhere network so I understand it. I would have somebody else do it, if it were me. I'm sure the interview was interesting, but I wouldn't want an iowa dork interviewing a new ISU coach. It had to annoy iowa fans, at least.

The knee injury might take some value off his transfer. I doubt it though if he is going to be ready in September.
Might be cleared by September (I doubt it), but won't be the player he was before until February, if he doesn't have any setbacks, that is.

Pharrel Payne in the portal. We recruited him pretty hard last time he was in the portal out of Minnesota. Would be a pretty good addition if TJ is still interested

That's something.

ASU has three Elite 8 appearances (1961, 1963 and 1975), but advanced to Sweet 16 only once since (in 1995).
Ned Wulk was there for a long time, 1957 to 1982, and had some very good teams but always quite a few average or worse years.

Also, the 1995 Sweet 16 was later vacated for a point shaving scandal.

What are the chances we get Jayden Quaintance? His knee surgery might not interest teams as much. Iowa State could maybe use him, although we do have Blake Buchanan now. DO you think we could get him?
