WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

News that is tangentially related to ISU -- Molly Joyce, Audi's PG at Bishop Garrigan, has made it to Div I. She spent the last two seasons at DII Truman State, but she's transferring to South Dakota.
I had forgotten she was the all state captain as a senior for AG. Just looked at her freshman season summary at Truman.
Named GLVC Freshman of the Year and was a member of the GLVC All-Freshman team…played in all 28 games and cracked the starting lineup for the final 14 of the season…scored in double figures in 14 games with four 20+point plus games and a single-game high of 24 points coming against both Drury and Southwest Baptist…averaged 10.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game…knocked down four three-pointers in game against Quincy on February 24…notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Illinois Springfield on February 22…went 10-for-10 at the free throw line in game against Rockhurst on January 25…earned Academic All-GLVC honors.
And my own state Gophers just won the WBIT.
Not a bad consolation since they spent the season without Mara Braun and Taylor Woodson. That did allow unheralded freshman Tori McKinney PT and she's averaged 10 pts a game and had 26 points tonight. Fun to see an unranked freshman recruit get Tournament MVP. Still, she was a Hopkins players and North Tartan AAU so she's a good player.
Going to need to hang on to players like PG Amaya Battle. Hopefully they can retain the gals and not lose them to the portal. They have one ESPN ranked gal coming in from Wisconsin so if they retain everyone they will be better (on paper) with the injured gals back.
Incremental progress even with the bad luck injuries this year. Played in the WNIT champ game last year. Moved "up" to win the WBIT this year. Unless they have portal loses they should be NCAA next year. Could use some paint help from the portal. Wonder how they hit portal recruiting when they are busy still playing?

An okay trade off for all of her injuries, seven years of paid schooling and on her way to a 2nd masters degree. I am glad she is done putting that wear and tear on her knees. Coming back for a 5th year of play makes sense if she was planning to not go pro and just play for a lost run with KSU. She had been 1st round on mock drafts in the past and 2nd round even this year.
Read somewhere that she has been working in family counseling so she's had a foot in the door of post-college life already.
