That's a weird pairing. Beck is awesome though.

True story, my future wife and were at a U2 concert where Beck opened for them. We were right on the rail in the center next to the sound board. It's the middle of U2's set and I look over and Beck is standing just on the other side of the rail from me jamming out like a normal fan.

That would have been awesome. As far as the weird pairing, I had to look her up because I’d never heard of her. What the…

I had something similar happen when I saw Nine Inch Nails at Lolla. Trent's wife was literally within touching distance. Josh Homme joined the sound booth at some point too.

That's awesome. Yeah, it was cool when you see one of those moments and realize they are also fans just like the rest of us.

Have it on my calendar to order on Thursday! I've tried to make it to several of his shows and always had a conflict each time. I think the DSM Symphony will be an incredibly interesting touch, and I'm curious to see what from his oeuvre he chooses. Some of it (the Sea Change and Guero albums, for example) lend to a symphony better than, say, The Information.

He is a lot of fun. i didn't buy in until about 10 years ago, but I'm glad I saw one of his shows. We are going to see him with the Colorado Symphony this summer.

You guys Rock. I got my tickets too. Mumford and Sons goes on sale at the same time tomorrow. Now I only have to worry about them and not both concerts at the same time tomorrow. Our 2025 concert schedule is starting to shape up nicely.

April - Shine Down - Wells
June - Phase Fest in KC with Anberlin, Hoobastank, Taking Back Sunday, others
June - Weird Al, Civic Center
July - Beck with Des Moines Syphony
August Sunday Hinterland, Lana Del Rey and Bleachers
August - Glass Animals - Omaha
October - Mumford and Sons St. Paul if I get tickets.

Skipping Minnesota Yatch Club this year but it was excellent last year. We actually saw many of the bands previously, but it looked good, also was most interested in Sunday but logistically would have been difficult

Saw Jack White for the 3rd time last night. We had tickets in the upper deck of the new Steelhouse in Omaha. The newer steelhouse in Omaha is probably the best place I've ever watched a concert.. 4e9b4c23-9229-4d1c-b9be-67daa833fd57-1_all_18184.jpg 4e9b4c23-9229-4d1c-b9be-67daa833fd57-1_all_18185.jpg

Another random Beck story.

My random sighting of Beck was at the Troubadour in LA, maybe 2000 - 2001. I was there to see Jason Falkner for his show at the Troubadour. I look over directly to my right, and it is Beck watching Jason's set too. I had a short conversation with him. Just odd to see someone so famous not surrounded by any entourage or anything just enjoying a show by himself.

Since I moved to California, a long time ago, I have seen beck maybe 4-5 times. One great show at Long Beach when he was supported by the Flaming Lips for the whole tour. That was for the Sea Change album / tour. It was a fantastic show. I have seen him at the Hollywood bowl another couple of times as well.

Jason Falkner is a great musician / songwriter on his own. Jason has supported many of Beck's recent tours as a guitar player. Jason also plays guitar with St Vincent as well.

Just finished the Austin City Limits 50th year special from last night. Some parts I loved, wished they had did a couple things different. Overall it was definitely worth the watch if for nothing else the nostalgia of watching great music for 50 years

We went to town to see Bob Dylan tonight. His heyday is before my time, but I know a few songs. Man, for his age, I think he sounds better now. I was surprised he never played guitar. Played for two hours non-stop behind the piano. He is really good on the harmonica!!

I think I will watch the movie now.
