Not exactly sure.
Seemed to me the opposite was the problem, injured guards meant less ability to pressure and allowed high 3 pt percentages. BYU (twice) and Mississippi especially.
Throw in Milan, dishon and kelderman are slow footed so they need to give a little more space on the outside and we had a defensive mess.

Trying to figure out where the points are going to come from on the new recruits. So far nothing is jumping out to me.
IMO we are probably counting on getting close to 55ppg from Jefferson, Momcilovic, Lipsey & Heise.

Gotta believe the staff is looking for at least 10ppg from a post tandem.

Add to that 8-10ppg from Williams.

So if we get 5-10ppg from the freshman.

That should get the Clones in the high 70s. With a better defense we should be fine.

Trust the staff.

We needed more defensive presence in the post. It’s great when you can land a big 6’11” player with size and some athleticism. There simply aren’t a lot of players like that around.

And now the staff can work on him to perfect his craft.

Completely agree. Good athlete with some nice touch in the post. Likes to play defense. Former top 100 recruit. Really solid addition.

His video shows things that every 6'11" white guy should be expected to do. Dunking at that height doesn't = athleticism. He's a skinnier Chatfield. Let's not sugarcoat it, and act like we've added a big difference maker.

That is a fine role, and something our team can use for sure. But there was an outcry to get more athletic & skilled in the post this offseason. We have yet to add someone that is markedly better than this past season to say we really improved at that position.
Liked what Chatfield did for us but how many dunks did he actually have? Jackson too. Give me a guy that dunks his offensive rebounds. I also hope our two new bigs have better hands

I mean anyone with eyes could see that we were getting cooked in the post offensively and defensively. Especially the last month or two of the season.
Where we were getting cooked was off of high ball screens and switches. What they’ve done in the post is upgrade the ability to guard. Everyone they signed is more mobile defensively than who they’re replacing. If they get Cluff, it’s a clear improvement at the 4/5. If not, it’s closer to a wash than a downgrade.

I’m more concerned about replacing Gilbert and Jones. But, I also think that people are writing off Batemon mostly because Nojus didn’t work out.

Was underwhelmed looking at the stats, but after watching his highlights I think he'll be a good match with JJ. I think we're going to see a lot of big to big passing between those two. I think overall the difference in production between him and Jackson won't be much

We’re the Oakland A’s. So no, it’ll be the three we’ve gotten and Rhode, sadly.

It’ll be another 20+ win season with a decent seed but no chance to advance far in the tournament.

...In fact, while I'm thinking about it, why isn't the We Will NIL donating site pinned at the top of the Cyclone Fanatic message board? I'd rather see that first thing when I get on the board than some thread on TJ to Indiana or Keshon Gilbert.

I think you have to start Heise. His end of year stats support this.
IMO TJ liked having a proven scorer CuJo come off the bench at the first round of subs. So maybe Heise fills the same role. But Heise's offensive game is different.

Could be the staff has sold Williams on filling CuJo's instant offense role.

I'd love if Toure or Batemon are the real deal like Milan was as a frosh. Start day 1 and allow Williams, Heise and Buchanan(or Muller) be the first sub line.
