Weird that he explicitly says returning to KU is a strong option. Testing the market? Playing hardball with KU? At some point that might backfire for someone.

It might backfire someday. But with no guardrails on the system and the money hose turned on full bore, why shouldn't he?

With agents and advisors doing the background work, I'm sure he didn't enter the portal without knowing he can get more money in the open market than he made at KU this past season.

Just my opinion, but I feel like we kind of need to pick a lane. Either you’re a switch everything team, or you continue to get beat by the high ball screen.

Just my opinion, but I feel like we kind of need to pick a lane. Either you’re a switch everything team, or you continue to get beat by the high ball screen.

A lot of elite defenses hedge & fight the screen to avoid switching and the ensuing mismatches. It doesn't have to be 100% either way. Depends a lot on the opponent.

IMO its OK to switch everything, but it better not lead to lazy habits resulting in guys being weak at staying in front of their man off the dribble.

The collectives be obsolete once the AD owns player’s NIL rights so they are unloading their powder keg now.
For the players get that payday now before the landscape changes.

I don’t see it regressing too much. Basketball-only schools can continue to do what they’re doing this year, just laundered through AD, and the big brands with football will force the clearinghouse to defend FMV

It’s not going away that top players can make a lot of money and benefit from that extra year of eligibility.

I don’t disagree, but if you’re not switching, then your bigs better be fast enough to recover and ours weren’t.

ISU’s entire NIL budget last year for football and basketball was around $5M. Not sure who the money is dividend between the two sports, but we definitely can’t afford Bidunga or even paying three great players $1M each.
