With Oscar Cluff looking like a real possibility as a big and very good offensively. I wanna see another rim protector like Hasan Ward. Funny enough another VCU center, Luke Bamgboye, entered the portal and he had the second best block rate in the country. Also only a freshman

Speaking of VCU, Seth Greenberg said that they were going to spend $450K on each player next season which means that they'll spend roughly $5M total.

He said it in the context of them no longer being a mid-major because of the money they're spending.

Many athletics departments, especially at the G5 level, will be forced to choose between supporting football and not doing so. It will be hard to resist throwing all the resources at a successful basketball program if you play in the FCS. I don't know what happens to those football conferences over time, but it won't be good.

Texas Tech seems to get the best player out of the Mountain West every single year. Lubbock a short move from New Mexico.

With that said, dang he would be PERFECT coming in next to Lipsey as a combo guard. Likely out of our price range I would assume.

For what it's worth, Cluff rated as #1 transfer at On3. Good he has a no contact for our sake

The only thing a 'Do Not Contact' designation means is that the player is using an agent to negotiate and all requests go to the agent rather than the player.

It's something that way too much gets read into.

I'll use UNI, and I assume most of the MVC (not MVFC only) schools, as an example.

UNI is going to opt in. Our cap will be somewhere around $1.4M and 90% of that is going to MBB. We will not share at all with football and the remaining 10% is going to be split between WBB and VB.

That's going to be the FCS model for the most part. North Dakota State is opting OUT because they feel that their collective can make them financially competitive and they don't want to be subject to roster caps.

Kansas is on line 1. ( or someone like them)
This dude has serious game, he will be a home run grab for whoever pays him his $$. Won't be us, unfortunately. I presume New Mexico pays peanuts, otherwise kid should stay. What's wrong with being the POY and big dog in a respectable mid-major conference? He'll get plenty of eyeballs for a future date in the NBA draft first round.
