*** Official Ole Miss vs #15 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Jefferson is a nice player but he has A LOT to work on.
Yes, I've seen comparisons on this board that Jefferson is like Royce White and Momcilovich is like Georges Niang.

Niang and White were NBA draft picks and absolute CLOSERS in college. Momcilovich and Jefferson are nice big 12 players and that is it.

Momcilovich played as tough on D as caitlin clark tonight.

Actually, his defense is improving. He's done some good things on that end. Just shitting the bed with shooting.
It's better, but he still struggles to guard and rebound. Needs to get way better to compete vs these teams.

That's just odd luck. Last year, Illinois hadn't been to the Sweet 16 for a really, really long time. And it was our 5th one in 15 years or something like that. One of these times, we'll luck into an Elite 8. But it won't be this year.
You don’t make a Final Four because you’re “lucky”. VCU had to beat number one seed Kansas to make it.

This is a total ass kicking in every phase of the game. Credit miss, they were prepared, scouted well, and kicked our asses.
Can handle them having an unconscious night shooting. But the stupid turnovers and shooting poorly from the foul line and from three are all on us.
We may have been beat tonight, but we are embarrassing ourselves.

Some of you a really funny. I’m mad at the way the game is going, but some of you seem to be completely blindsided by the possibility of this outcome. Our team has not been the same since late January once our health issues have started. We would have flashes every now and then, but also some pretty bad lows. Reality is that going into this tournment we could have either gone out game one or made sweet 16 because of how up and down we’ve been with our injuries.

As others have said in some of the transfer recruiting threads, we need to be deeper. Need guys 6-10 on the bench to be playable. This roster is very limited with the injury to Gilbert (and Lipsey)
I also think some of it is TJ forcing depth development. Once he locks in his 8 it’s over. And when two of those 8 go down I bet you wish you’d developed more of a bench.
