Ok, that’s ridiculous. We could bring in the best PG in the country and Tamin would still start. Now, we could be starting 2 PGs like we did with Kane and Morris, but there’s pretty much no one out there that would move Tamin to the bench.
It's not like Gilbert & Lipsey weren't a 2 PG tandem. IMO TJ would probably prefer 2 elite ball handlers on the court. With what we are trying to do on offense, seems like we need 2 guards who can distribute, get downhill to the bucket and make 3's.

Part of positional-less basketball we see today. Some players are:
  • 1/2's (Lipsey & Gilbert)
  • Others 2/3's (Jones & Heise)
  • Others 3/4's. (Momcilovic & Watson)
  • Others 4/5's (Jefferson)

Who? Stirtz? Yeah…he won’t be “under recruited” going forward. He’s become a household name this year.
it'll be interesting.

do you follow the coach you've been with since day 1 or do you go and take your $$ for a contender, probably.

This NIL stuff is gonna go so far off the rails this off-season. Out of control.

Is this surprising when we hear football programs are spending $20M plus on NIL.

It is a messed up system and it's tough to put the toothpaste back in the tube. But I feel like there needs to be guard rails like in professional sport. Does that mean athletes are employees, does that mean a CBA, does that mean sport specific NIL caps or does that mean two student-athlete paths a school can choose from.

I am actually really surprised by that list based on his actual bball skills.
It's all about what a coach's system is. Harding gets put down a lot on this board. But for the right system, he's a solid P5 PG. His biggest deficiency to this point is on the defensive end. But that can be said of most Hawkeye players.

My guess is there are a lot of coaches that figure they can get more out of Harding on defense. At worst, he's a solid bench player.

Do we have a lot more basketball NIL than what’s being reported at Iowa? Never really seen any numbers on what we have to spend

Iowa will get stupid with NIL this spring as soon as they sign a new coach and will try to make a big splash, just watch.

I understand you were blinded by your Iowa hate. Nothing wrong with that.

But as I said, Iowa has many players that will end up on P5s, most being good P5s
Maybe but Harding not a difference maker for a legit ncaa type team . Just look at his time on a bottom feeder team in pretty weak conference after the top 4 teams….. which dominated him .

Are you thinking that’s been even remotely claimed?

Blum’s comment with CW on their blog this week: “I expect Iowa State to be very active in the portal this off-season.” Worth following, and this from the keeper of our NIL funding! Will be interesting to follow.
I certainly paused when he said that. I’m still trying to figure out if it’s a good thing or not.
