***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

I wouldn't have guessed that stat ESPN just flashed:
Houston leads Baylor 40-16 all time.

Easy to forget that Baylor was historically bad before Drew, and Houston also had a lot of historical success.

Between 1951 and 2008 they made a single ncaa tournament and 3 NITs, and didn't win any of those games. (over the same stretch Houston had 11 sweet 16s and 5 final 4s)

The common sense bracket... which doesn't mean much. I know the committee doesn't put much weight if any on conference tournament games, but I just don't see how you don't reward BYU for the way they are playing right now.
Did you miss all of the ISU brutal noncon stuff last year?

That's not how NCAA brackets work though.

They've been bumped up to a 6 as the highest seed I've seen. I don't think they just swap with a potential 3 because of the last week of the season.

I forget that Baylor was basically an afterthought for their first 10-15 years of Big 12 play and about their whole existence before that.
And Houston was really, really good for a long time in the '60s, '70s and '80s before and during their SWC days. I think the Cougars are the program that has been to the Final Four the most times without ever winning it.

Why do some of you hate drake so much? I'm not saying anyone needs to root for them, but I don't get the animosity.
Nobody hates Drake, it just doesn’t make any sense why so many are pulling for them like it’s their own damn team. We are Cyclone fans, but Bulldog fans.
