***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

NCAA postseason is just weird (both FB and BB), only major sports I know of where eligibility for the postseason for most teams is determined by committee instead of by winning.

I guess the alternative is tying it to placings in conferences though, which will just devolve into the same nonsense as the football playoffs.
Not all wins and losses are created equal. How hard is this to understand. One team plays a schedule of mostly quad 3/4 games and one plays a majority quad 1/2. I’m not even talking about drake or Oklahoma here. But cmon guys.

There's been times when KU looks like they're starting to really get going but they really just don't seem to have it.

Maybe their defense gets them a win or two in the tourney though.

They've certainly had better teams do worse.

Providence staff holds up signs for plays.
I just saw a "19."

I don't know if I've seen that before.

It's just a matter of time

I didn't say all wins and losses are equal, cmon guy.
You were saying it isn’t determined by winning, which it still is, but wins and losses across conferences aren’t equal. It’s essentially what you were saying. Cmon guy. Drakes schedule is buns, and yes they have won, that’s great, and i think they should be in, but it isn’t the same as the SEC, big 12, big ten, hell even ACC. There is a reason we have all these metrics to measure teams.

The reason we have metrics is too "blindly" pick bigger brands and punish smaller ones. Not all wins are created equal and not all losses are created equal you are right, but we've focused way to much on trying to equate losses to wins we forget that winning games actually matters.

The reason we have them is to make sure we aren’t punishing a team who plays a much harder schedule. Iowa State went 7-11 TJs first year in conference. Should we not have made it?

Oklahoma has wins against Missouri, Arizona, Louisville, Michigan, Arkansas in quad 1. Better than any win that drake has all year.
