I recently dropped by cable provider (formerly had espn) and planned on using Prime, Netflix and Disney Plus Bundle for TV viewing.

I am now unable to watch espn due to “not having a cable subscription.”

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Yea that’s normal. Have to have a provider for ESPN/ESPN2

**** Disney

Meh. I lay the blame at the feet of the cable and streaming bundle providers. They’ve taken the packages and made them so bloated to try to appease everyone that no one wants them. But their contracts from ESPN have prevented an al a carte option.

As more content goes to individual apps rather than traditional cable channels, the appeal of the bundles will decrease but the cost will not. The sooner that sports can decouple themselves from these bundles the better.

You could just sign up(and cancel) for Netflix twice a year, so 1 month or so twice a year. They dont have the guts to penalize for it yet.

Will all be to the point of having to hire someone to manage all of our subscription.

Doing taxes is easier.

How does doing something with Netflix help the OP get the linear ESPN channels?

Sling orange ($23/month). is probably the cheapest way to get espn and espn2. But if you want FS1 football games. You will need orange and blue for $46/ month.
