Teams will discount him because of his size, forgetting that there are people all over the league doing very well at his size. Way to many teams use size as the overriding factor in drafting and less on production and skill.I have always felt Noel is a perfect fit in today’s NFL. Great route runner that gets in and out of his breaks really well, great run after the catch, and great strength to deal with press.
there are a lot of smaller receivers at the senior bowl and it seems like the NFL isn't as concerned about that with receivers anymore. The bigger thing is that Noel is pretty strong and well built, which I think is more critical now because the league uses a lot of tighter formations. I heard one analyst say that receivers that are very slightly built aren't as coveted due to the change in formations. That is one of the concerns that some have with Travis Hunter playing receiver.Teams will discount him because of his size, forgetting that there are people all over the league doing very well at his size. True, but according to the NLF Data this is not considered a strong WR class of the players that are there, they have Higgins rated as the #76 prospect and Noel at #122.there are a lot of smaller receivers at the senior bowl and it seems like the NFL isn't as concerned about that with receivers anymore. Here is Flowers data breakdown in the link. Notice they had he projected as a mid 2nd to maybe moving up into the first round.Zay Flowers was a first round pick at 5'9" in the 2023 draft.
Noel is around 5'10" and is going to be limited to a "slot" role, but he does not play small. He also has what counts: route precision, smarts/awareness against zone, and the rare trait to separate against man coverage. He also has amazing ball skill.
A 'sweet spot' for receivers is probably 5'11-6'1, but pretty much every team is looking for a WR that can SEPARATE against man coverage, because most cannot.

NFL has no problem with 5'11 ish guys. They don't want tall, straightline speed guys, and haven't for a decade. It's all about getting in and out of breaks. Height is not valued in the league much at the position, and hasn't been for a long time. It's very much turned into a nice to have, all things being equal. Their not going to take a guy that is slower getting in and out of breaks because he's tall.Teams will discount him because of his size, forgetting that there are people all over the league doing very well at his size. It doesn't matter what these types of sites think. In the end a 5'9 WR with great (4.42), but not Tyreke-Hill level speed got picked in the first round. Here is Flowers data breakdown in the link. Notice they had he projected as a mid 2nd to maybe moving up into the first round.
Flowers face some limitations for the NFL in terms of being short and light. He could have problems with longer cornerbacks, and getting off jams and reroutes could be an issue for him as a pro. His size might limit him to mainly being a slot receiver in the NGL.
At worst, Flowers looks likely to be a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has a chance of ending up as a first-round pick.

potentially all 4, sounds like Travis is turning some heads as wellAll 3 of these guys could go Day 2 which is cool
Without a doubt Noel will be drafted, I was just questioning those thinking he is going to go in the first or high 2nd round, the NFL has him listed as the #122 prospect, so that would put him currently in the 3rd to 4th round. He has without a doubt helped himself this past week and his combine scores will also help.It doesn't matter what these types of sites think. Not to mention, a 35.5" vert. is very good, but for an NFL WR that's 5'9" and 175 lbs, they are pretty much living with the fact that you aren't going to have a good success rate of him catching highly contested balls through height, vert, or strength/positioning.
Let's see what Noel does at the combine, but what pops on film and at Senior bowl, is change of direction and strength/physicality as a runner and blocker. He's not a unicorn or anything, but he fits what the NFL offenses want now.

Give me a link to one person that has him listed in the first round. Flowers was always a mid 2nd to possible first round selection. I would love to see Noel make it into the first round, but thinking just because Flowers did, therefore Noel will also is really most likely not going to happen. You're quoting the comments from a draftnik, not an NFL team.
An NFL team drafted Flowers in the first round. He's 5'9". And frankly Flowers has performed pretty well in the actual NFL as a feature WR.
Is Jaylin Noel the same type of prospect as Zay Flowers? I don't know, I'm not saying that. I am saying that for certain prospects, height is not a disqualifier. And Flowers is a perfect example that speaks against your assertion.
I do believe that Jaylin Noel has plenty of countervailing traits to be a valuable enough prospect that his height trait is not a disabling trait as you stated.
I think it was in the bowl games that the commentator compared him to Steve Smith. Honestly seems like a spot on compI have always felt Noel is a perfect fit in today’s NFL.
