Rider/Bucknell 1/11

Why not follow the freestyle weights , although I actually like the Greco weight spread better FS 125 134 143 154 163 174 190 203 214 276. Greco 121 132 139 148 159 170 181 192 214 228+

Changing weights would require some agreement on part of college wrestling coaches, right? That would be easy. That's a group of guys that are constantly getting along really well together.
It should be very easy for any coach with a brain to agree to match the international weights.

Let’s add a 115 while we’re at it then? There are certainly HS seniors smaller than 125.
That's counter to the point that is being made and you know it. And I'm someone who wrestled 112 as a SR in HS by the way.

I'm not at all opposed to re-shuffling the 10 weight classes if we need to keep it at 10 for some arbitrary reason. (Side: Might be better with an odd number to avoid the 5-5 ties....but we're getting off on a tangent now)

I appreciate the sarcasm and get where it is coming from. Just a couple of counter-points. 1) This should be easier now that they are not limited to 9.9 scholarships. 2) Who would have ever thought they'd agree to a 3 point takedown?

There are? That wrestle? That has to be a fantastically small number. And even worse when you consider how few are high level athletes. 125 is small enough.

So you have no idea about Schon’s weight but that is irrelevant? Haha ok pal.

The exact weight is hardly relevant. He hasn’t hit the mat under the 220 lb class in five years. He wasn’t wrestling 220 as a soph and junior then HWT ever since just for the hell of it.

December, 2024 he was 231.9.

February of 2023 he was 246 and 248.

That's a lot of weight. He certainly did not have much fat to lose.

Those are Carroll's weights last year in November.

Don’t tell this to CityCy. He knows everything and thinks big strong guys dropping 40+ pounds to go at weights they haven’t held since their early HS days is a big deal. No effect on the body. They are just lazy or something.

You act like Schon was a good HWT before the cut.

Has nothing to do with it.

You might be the only person in America who doesn’t think cutting a ton of weight is a big deal.
No I just don’t agree with you that cutting weight is why certain people are struggling. There’s much more to just cutting weight for Carroll and Schon just isn’t very good to begin with.

Oh. So that’s your stance. Now. ‍♂️
