***Official Kansas Must Be Destroyed Thread***

Going to a game at the Phog has been on my bucket list and this is about as good of a year than any to check that off. Not sure its going to happen though as between finding a friend that is interested in going and the expensive week I just had with some unexpected repairs not sure it is meant to be.

Is parking a mess?. I have been to FB games at KU and you usually have to drive around to find some random parking. For basketball looks like it is $35 to park in a nearby parking ramp otherwise it looks like it make be a bit of a walk?

I heard that in order to get a free ticket to the KU game students had to attend all non conference games. Based off the attendance of the last game they had to attend to get the free ticket I don't think the line is going to be rediculous to get into this game.

I want to see our bigs hold Dickinson to his worst outing of the year. I really want to see Chatfield show him up and just be the tougher MAN out on the court.

It always seems when the other team has "the best player" at position X our corresponding player balls out and embaresses their player and the talking heads that tout about how good he is.

I'm gonna predict that Chatty gets Dickinson to commit a flagrant foul. Chatfield is a strong body and loves to play physical and Dickinson is weak minded.

It will be an interesting matchup for sure. Outside of Mayo, they really struggle to shoot the ball this year. Secondly, Jackson has the size to matchup with Dickinson straight up which is huge. I dont anticipate us always sending a double team on the catch Dickinson's direction. Jefferson matches up really well with KJ Adams as well.

From what I have gathered, KU fans are extremely frustrated with the lineups Bill Self is putting out there. They frequently have Harris, KJ Adams and Dickinson on the floor together. All three of which you WELCOME to shoot from the perimeter. KJ Adams won't shoot the ball from 10+ feet out. I think that allows our guards to be extremely aggressive and really disrupt their offense.

I like the way our personnel matches up. Hilton should be electric. I would be really surprised if we dont come away with a W.
It's really kind of confusing how they are Top 10 in the metrics. They have become a really good defensive team (#4 in kenpom AdjD) - and are really struggling on offensive efficiency.

looking at torvik - their game scores are interesting. They are at least 92 in every win, and all three losses are < 65. They've either been good or really bad.

Defensively they are as high as they are due almost entirely to good shooting percentages.

Offensively they are not getting to the line at all and are not shooting the three well, except Zeke Mayo.

and, unless he goes off against us, I will continue to laugh all season at the extremely predictable AJ Storr debacle.

It probably won't happen with Hunter and Adams both in the game, but if KU goes small, I'd love to see the Jefferson/Dickenson matchup in crunch time. I think Joshua could cause some real problems for Hunter

The matchup is great for us in my opinion. It’s another year with this core where Bill Self doesn’t have several guards that just get downhill and attack the paint and put pressure on the rim like older vintage Kansas teams.

Just face guard Mayo, clog the paint and make their weaker guards beat you as they aren’t a great 3 point shooting team. Throw body after body on Hunter Dickinson to wear him down and frustrate him, he is a bully against weaker teams, but when he faces real competition, he is soft.

Rebound, Physical defense, get back in transition, attack the paint and put pressure on the rim like old Kansas teams used to do to everybody. Easy Dubs

Sounds about right.

They have been pretty good at preventing easy shots at the rim - holding opponents to and adjusted 42.6% on 2pt shots - compared to our 58.6%. That's probably more of a key than making threes (although that would be huge) - in their 4 conf games opponents are shooting only 23% on threes.

But Gilbert/Jones/Lipsey need to get into the paint and make or set up some easy shots - and get to the FT line.

in their (extremely low scoring) win at Cincy - both teams only had 6 fouls in the entire game - KU shot 5 FTs and Cincy shot 2. Not sure if the refs forgot their whistles or what, but that's insane.
