The 2000 team being in attendance today got me thinking about if this year's team would have a shot at the all-time season wins record.

Here's my back of the napkin math on this, making some assumptions:

  • We had 10 wins in the non-con
  • We go 15-5 in conference (puts us at 25 wins going into the conference tourney)
  • Get two wins there, putting us at 27
  • Win the whole damn thing in March Madness (6 wins)
  • Finish with 33 wins, breaking the record.
That would be pretty neat, right?

How many wins do you think we finish with?

BTW, for reference, the next closest was last year with 29 wins. After that, it was the 2014 Kane/Ejim/Morris/Niang/etc. team with 28.

Look at the remaining home schedule. Extremely favorable. Beat Kansas @ home and we are running the table at Hilton.

I really dont see us going 5-5 or worse on the road. This team is too good and too tough. They will beat some really great opponents on the road.

If I had to make a prediction right now I would go 17-3 in conference. 27-4 overall headed into Big 12 tourney.

If I had to bet we don't lose more than 4 in conf. Hard to see this group losing in Hilton unless something crazy happens.
