North Dakota State

This year especially I hear from fans (and thinking myself) these wrestlers are now being paid-like a job- to perform. I keep catching myself having much less sympathy for bad weight cuts, odd schedules, and injuries that could have been avoided.

It’s not fair to the wrestlers, but it is what is expected of them. But do the wrestlers not get paid NIL money if they lose? That is usually how getting paid in a job works.
NIL from my understanding can’t be tide to performance.

dude you are always skeptical. Carroll has not wrestled this weight in a long time, so cutting like this is new. People do not understand the weight cuts. Some of the done it their whole lives, they know they are not going to feel good wrestling. Then you got the guys that were eating the entire week and then just cut food and water off a day and they make it. Carroll to my knowledge, has not had to cut and wrestle. I am told he struggles to keep this weight down. Is he doing it right? I would bet he is not. E Frost is cutting his nuts off, and it took him a bit to get it under control, but he is wrestling better. Carroll may never figure it out, but he is not losing cuz he sucks.

He’s sucked down hard from his natural weight. He should be a HWT. Struggles on some level are an expectation. Let’s hope he finds his stride.

Too much focus on trying to be like Iowa and get all these "high profile transfers" and not enough time spent developing the talent we had/have. Perryman, Kysen, Grice, Redding, Paniro, MJ, Rojas, Tate Naak, Helgeson and Hagarty have all either regressed or not done anything yet this year after spending time focused on transfers. Strange year to say the least

We will not be a consistent top 5 program by picking up an occasional top 10 recruit and developing a team otherwise. You simply have to play the transfer game.

Let me know when you have an hour. I will explain professional sports and contracts to you.

I might be in the minority but I don’t think Carroll would be better at HWT. He’s a tweener. Guys like him and Kueter need a 215 lb class or similar if they want to dominate like they did pre-college.

I don't think he would be better at HWT. I think he needs to stop with the stuff outside of the room that is making it more difficult for him to handle 197 properly.

Not saying you're incorrect but he was every bit of 220 has a HS senior and after. It isn't a huge leap to HWT from there. He's not super tall, but tall enough IMHO. Hard to believe he couldn't have added 25-30 lbs and had success. (And not lost to a guy at the level of the NDSU guy!)

At best he’d be a fringe AA like Kueter at HWT in my opinion. Obviously better than what he’s doing now but I think that’s more stuff outside the room playing a factor than just his cut.

Yes, a fringe AA…this year. HWT clears out after this season. Kueter is ranked 12 and 9 of the 11 in front of him are seniors. Kueter will be a top contender going forward as would CC, IMHO.

I don’t know anything about CC "outside the room " stuff. But I do know Herrera is very impressive to me. He moves well, has a size advantage and looks like he can build his power. He's got a high ceiling after YB is done IMO. I'm hoping YB gets a MRS this year so he can get healthy and win it all next year. Herrera can build muscle and be a beast after that. I think CC will be forced to stay at 97 to have a starting spot.

I’m not disagreeing but that was a really bad performance by Peanut on Saturday in both matches. He has a ton of work to do before coming close to AA status in the future. Hope he picks it up after Christmas as I do like some of his intangibles.
