Xavier Townsend is a Cyclone... again!

Not nearly as big and strong as Noel, but I could see him filling a similar role next year.
I don't expect him to be a 1k receiver. He's not as fast as Noel or as skilled. But man! It's a good piece who has friends on the team.

We gotta build our team like Otz built basketball and Cignetti built Indiana.... Not how Kirk chucks Hail Marys at Iowa.

When I saw him enter the portal I figured he would probably end up here after how close we were to getting him out of high school

I don't either, just to fill a similar role.

Funny he was supposed to be the future replacement for Noel two years ago. He is used in the run game as well, very dynamic and obviously has a strong relationship with Rocco. We'll still need to replace our " big" WR but this is a really good start to fill those holes at wr.

We got big WRs on the roster already, and have a 6"4" freshman coming in. Give me more speed. I'm hoping to get Javon Tracy. He's built like a running back and makes plays all over the field.

Early on there were rumblings that Dom. Overby may skip his RS. He is 6'5". wonder if Isaiah Alston is/was a bust or just saving him for the future?

I think the WR Group is tough to judge, we don't play many WR, usually we just have 2 on the field and the 2 that we were playing are statistically two of the best WR in our history. It would have been really hard for anyone to get on the field a head of those guys. I'm not ready to call anyone a bust quite yet but there were a few other WR who got more PT that Alston.

After watching him in high school, was extremely disappointed in losing him. Now with college experience at the position I think it can be a very good fit, just expect more a slot role guy with explosive capability than a Higgins or even Noel replacement.

Hopefully we can find ways to use speedy receivers more. I won’t get excited until we show willingness to be more creative on offense. He’d be perfect for jet sweeps, but will we call that or will it still be much of the same?
