Which existing Defensive Ends and Linebackers on the existing roster do you think can be 2nd Team All Big 12 or 1st Team All Big 12 next year?

Caleb Bacon had 4 strong games in his first year playing, thats it. Rest of the group gets hurt a lot and is ineffective. Our linebackers looked like a joke against Memphis in the bowl game last year. They got exposed Saturday big time. The answer is zero, and if we can agree that's likely the case we should look in the portal.

Our leading tackler at LB was Kooper Ebel with 57 tackles in reg season (that isn't good enough).

Our leading sack guy was an INTERIOR d lineman in JR Singleton with 4. Find me lots of top ten defenses in the college game and NFL where your leading sack guy gets 4 sacks.. again, you won't. A leading sack guy should be pushing 8-10.

I’m sure there’s not a coaching staff in the country that wouldn’t mind knowing they’re getting an all conference caliber player who won’t get injured. That type of player in the portal sounds really affordable for Iowa State.

Someone mentioned Sama is our highest paid player. If this is true he needs to hit the portal or take a much lower deal. He was really average to bad all year.

Maybe we need to move Sama to safety. He was highly recruited as a dB out of high school. We are desperately going to need safeties the don't forget that they are supposed to cover guys. We were a mess with Verdon out.

Not hating, but Hansen was almost always positive yardage, and a more capable runner inside the tackles with this offensive line. Sama more hit and miss.

This is true. Sama was a break a long gain back and Hansen was get 5 yards after getting hit after two yards. The switch up is nice. I feel for Sama, minus those two fumbles he had a pretty solid year. Maybe not what we were hoping after the Kansas state game last year but still solid

Sure, because we don’t already have a half dozen or more talented safeties who will be fighting over spots come Spring.

Not counted the equally as talented incoming freshmen.

His rating was more based on size and potential rather than being college ready.

247 does a pretty good job at this, the only one they are missing on their list is AJ Burton, as of right now.

What's with the Sama hate? Hansen averaged 5.0 yds/carry, Sama 4.7. Not much different. I like Hansen more, but it's not a big gap.

Now take out the longest run from each of their games and then compare their averages.

Hansen is still 3.5

Sama is 2.5
