Slot receiver? ISU runs 12 personnel over 50% of the time. That’s 2 WRs, 2 TEs, and RB. What good does bringing in a slot receiver do? They rarely run sets with more than two receivers. Not to mention they brought in 2 receivers last off season who never see the field. Never did understand why with the offense Campbell runs.
We damn near need to retool our whole defense, plus hunt WRs, plus hunt RBs, plus look for any possible OL upgrades...that's too much for a portal alone. We better have some things coming in the pipeline that are ready day one.
This offense isn’t Mousers offense. This is Campbell’s offense. Manning, Nate, Campbell that one year and now Mouser. It’s the same offense every year. Mouser is just in charge of calling Campbell’s plays. It’s Campbell’s scheme, philosophy and playbook. Changing the OC isn’t changing the offense.
It’s almost like firing Manning didn’t fix the problem. It’s so weird.

Like to see us use him more as a receiver and change of pace back. Hansen can be the bell cow, many games he was above 5 yrds per carry. He also seemed to have better timing with the line and just more physicality.
I think we’re actually in good shape there for next year provided they’re healthy and they progress over the summer.

So you are saying we can count on Carson Willich (2 major knee injuries in last 4 years), and Caleb Bacon (total knee blow up this year) to be healthy going forward?

I think LB is the single biggest need of the team in the portal. We have zero linebackers who can: be a badass against the run like a Mike Rose, rush the QB and get TFLs like a Marcel Spears, or cover the run and pass like a Willie Harvey. We have little talent at LB and it freaking showed today.
I would love us to sniff the MAC or moutnain West for some above avg LBs. I think Boise State has several LBs better than us. Our LBs are below avg in the big 12. Now, I do like Beau Goodwin for the future, Cael Brezina has flashed. But I could never see Sadowski start again and be pleased with that.
