How in gods name is that the 11th best resume in college football. Joke.

Almost every computer model (I've looked at dozens) has ISU and BYU well above Boise State. Most have KSU above them too. A few do have Boise State above ASU and Colorado, but it's not clearly higher, it's coin flip.

Clemson is basically even with ISU/BYU in almost every computer model, this deal where they are clearly higher than the 2 loss Big 12 teams is total brand boner bias bs.

Yeah, I think if isu could get 2 back 2 back weeks against ranked teams that would get us the 4 but I wouldn’t hold my breath

It was good the committee had KSU at #24. ISU is one of the only mid-ranked teams playing a ranked team two weeks in a row to finish the season.

They are getting more credit for a close loss to Oregon than for their actual wins. Heck Oregon took a little while to start playing well this season. Boise was the 2nd game and in the Ducks 1st game they struggled against Idaho.

Scoring margin and style points do matter. If we beat down Utah like we should have, we would be higher than Tulane.

Boise State almost lost to absolutely horrible 2-9 Wyoming and still moved up to 11th. They trailed in the 4th quarter. Utah isn't great but they're wildly more talented than Wyoming.

Tulane is 0-1 against the Big 12, it will be absurd if any of our 6-2 conference teams win 2 more and are still behind Tulane. All 4 teams should be significantly higher. Tulane might be a fine team, they don't really play anybody and when they did...0-2.

Look at my "bias" thread of computer averages. It's not the Big Ten and SEC we're getting screwed by in terms of rankings. It's the ACC getting ranked higher when it's actually closer to even and it's the American and MWC teams ranked WILDLY higher than data suggests they should be.

While waiting for our MBB game I tuned into this show for the first time this season. I don't like seeing Boise or Tulane about the B12, but also if you look one layer below the surface they are actually setting things up for us well if we play well.

K-State is now ranked at 25 and if things go as we want then we would face ASU in the championship game. We win that and it gives us two ranked wins which likely bumps us up into the ~11-12 area as an 11-2 B12 champ. They are doing us a favor and giving us the chance to get an extra ranked win.

If we lose, quite honestly we don't deserve to get in at 9-3. An 11-2 B12 champ will almost certainly above Tulane with 2 ranked wins in the last two weeks. A 10-3 B12 champ if it happens I think should still get in but will probably have to sweat it out.

An 11-2 Big 12 champ should be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above an 11-2 team with Tulane's schedule, don't care if they won every game by 40, the schedule is not comparable. Plus they're 0-2 vs P4 including Big 12.

I've thought all year they may actually be the best G5 team (including BSU), but with two losses and 0-2 in their two chances, they need to be punished for that schedule.

An 11-2 Big 12 champ vs 12-1 Boise State with that one loss to Oregon, it depends how they are playing. Color me unimpressed with them barely beating 2-9 Wyoming last week. But if they crush Oregon State and blow the doors off UNLV in the MWC CCG I'd live with them being ranked above B12 champ. Oregon State started the year strong but everybody's killing them lately, if Air Force can beat them 28-0 the would-be 4 seed with a weak schedule should too.

The committee is a joke.

SOR for 1 and 2 loss teams in B12/ACC/MWC/AAC:
Miami - 6
SMU - 9
BSU - 12
BYU - 13
ASU - 15
ISU - 17
Clemson - 18
Tulane - 28

They committee should not have these wildly out of order as they do with the Big 12 teams lower than SOR every single time.

Tulane's ranking is absolutely absurd in relation to our top teams with the same record especially. It's not like they're undefeated, they had to chances to beat P4 and went 0-2.

I agree with you - I think SMU/Clemson and Tulane are the three teams getting way too much credit here. I'm not impressed with either and would not worry about meeting either of them if we were actually to face them in the playoffs though I know that we wouldn't. The problem is that we haven't had a new B12 powerhouse emerge. BYU has looked weak most of the season and unfortunately we have also struggled. If ISU/ASU/BYU was 10-1 or 11-0 right now, with (mostly) dominant wins we'd be up where we belong. But if we're being honest, none of the top B12 teams have looked dominant which has opened the door to this scenario.

It is kind of bizarro world that there is even a consideration that Boise or Tulane could be better than an 11-2 B12 champ. I think all this talk is the talking heads salivating over a 10-3 B12 champ getting left out and will quiet down if the winner gets to 11-2. I think that's equal parts anti-B12 sentiment and the fact that chaos and controversy will drive ratings for them.

Boise St struggling last week with a really bad team has me off their bandwagon.

Tulane at 9-2 with that schedule...I don't care how much they win by, that's a schedule where you shouldn't be in front of a Big 12 champ unless you're undefeated or have one loss to an elite team.

It's crazy I thought I was going to be furious about B10 and SEC, I really don't have a problem with how they've ranked those teams. It's that our ACC peers are getting far better treatment and G5 teams with worse resumes/metrics are being wildly overvalued.

So ASU beats a ranked team and moves up 5 spots and SMU beats BC and Clemson beats Citadel and both move up 5.

It ain’t a secret anymore

Teams should DROP when they schedule these FCS teams late in the season unless it's a top 5-10 FCS team and then they shouldn't wildly move up.

I always remember the night we beat OK State to knock them out of title game, Alabama played Georgia Southern that week and didn't look sharp.

The committee is clearly too influenced by recency and anchoring. The problem this creates is the committee will be anchored to how they ranked these teams in the past which were based on an incomplete sample. When the season ends they should start from scratch and rerank the teams based on their entire resume.

Putting all the 3 loss SEC teams ahead of the 2 loss other conferences is insane. If you want to argue they have a tougher schedule they need to have the same number of conference games to start discounting losses. It essentially says if they had 9 conferences games, a four loss Bama would still be where they are.

Tulane ahead of us is comical, compare the wins
The most forgotten about top 25 win of the season goes to Kansas State. How many people in the country know that KSU won at Tulane this year? Why are they ahead of KSU is an even better question

Tin foil hat time. Remember when it came out that the SEC and Big 10 wanted 4 guaranteed spots? They're going to try to leave the Big 12 out of the playoff if they can. Force our hand to agree to the deal if it guarantees us 1 spot.

It certainly looks like they’re trying to paint Big 12 as the 5th or 6th best conference when metrics show it tied for 3rd at worst and more likely just 3rd.

If only we had data points about how Tulane would fair against the 6th place team in the Big 12 and the 13th place team in the SEC…

Seriously, what games is this committee watching?? They lost at home to K-State and lost by 15 to OU…
