My son is a Material Science engineering student in his 3rd year. He has gone to the the last few career fairs and had some good conversations. Nothing has worked out for him. He has a solid cumulative gpa, like 3.3 or so. He can have conversations with anyone. But has had no real opportunities for an internship. I had told him to reach out to 50 different companies, but guessing he came up way short of that. But the latest disappointment for him is with Mechdyne, not even an interview. I'm not bagging on them, at least he got further than anywhere else. But was hopeful since CDub says they love hiring ISU students.
Any tips or companies that he should still try with? It seems many places are going away from interns and I get that.
