Didn’t Carroll tech Kueter? Not sure how a blue chip recruit can be underrated but he is.

At freestyle a couple years ago, maybe. And not when cutting significant lbs.

He’s also not wrestling Kueter. Buchanan is a man. Carroll beat Stanford by decision. Buchanan rag dolled him for a tech.

Carroll will be fine. Just biting off a lot at this point.

I love Carroll’s potential as much as anyone we have, but going from Stemmet/Navy 197 to Buchanan is going to be asking a lot for him.

Was more laughing at the idea Kueter could beat Yonger. I don’t know that he could beat Herrera.

I agree that Kueter is a decided underdog against Yonger, but with Yonger coming off injury and the dual being in CHA it isn’t crazy.

Not seeing what leads you to be so confident in Herrera. He’s pretty raw at this point.

Umm he’s either teched or pinned everyone except UNIs starting heavyweight this year as a true freshman. He isn’t raw at all.

What the hell are we talking about here… I like Herrera but Kueter would probably handle him easily right now. We’re talking about a guy who just was junior world silver. I like Yonger to beat him but he’s not going to be head and shoulders above him. Herrera would likely get bonused. That’s not even an insult to Herrera.

Yonger is head and shoulders above Kueter as a HWT.

I think the dual being in CHA just gives Yonger more juice. Pretty sure he loves being the villian. Regardless, I’m not remotely worried about heavy in that dual.

Some big questions going into the Iowa dual.

1. What is the pecking order of Terukina/Meza/Diversant?
2. Is Johnson injury serious?
3. Gaitan to 174? I hope this is not much of a question at this point.
4. 141 looks bleak. Despite the loss today have to think we see Frost based on past head to head results but who wins that wrestleoff that presumably happens this week?
Meza and Oz go back and forth. KT is the leader of the pack.
I was not able to watch the whole open yesterday, but is the consensus that Meza will be the starter at 125? Redshirt or not he seems like he does find ways to win.
I am assuming you are not on here much. I

in shape and full strength, yes. Right now, Kueter will give him a good match IMO.

AND, I think we see KT against IOWA

Any official wrestleoffs still need to happen or is Terukina have 125 once he gets down there?

Beating up on backups and non-D1 types isn't much of an indicator. UNI is the first opponent he's wrestled with a pulse--a guy who isn't AA level--and he didn't even score a point. He's a big, strong body. The very definition of raw. He's going to be pretty good, perhaps as early as next season.

As a contrast/comparison, Kueter beat 3 NCAA qualifiers (including a R12 guy) last season and about 15-20 lbs ago. (Not that I think he beats Yonger. Not the point.)

I believe there will be wrestle off Wednesday. I am not sure who is going and I have no info on the 125 situation. If it were me, and KT is wrestling good, I am going with the veteran in Carver. I will say this, Dresser is going to take the guy that WANTS to wrestle. If you show a glimmer of doubt, he is going with another option. He wants this W, and that is why you gotta love him. I am pretty close to 3 other programs, and I promise you Dresser is a breath of fresh air for me. He focuses on the little things, but he also wants kids on this team that want to compete. Winning will come with the right mindset, if you are competing your butt off on the daily, he knows you will end up having success.
I am interested in seeing who we go with at 125, 141, 157, and 174. I am not sure it is a lock on any of those weights. Again, my opinion.

Seems like 125, 141 and 174 are true competitive toss ups but 157 is dependent on health. That is the scary weight to me.

Herrera is not ready for Keuter yet. Not sure why that is a discussion.

Not a bad thing, still a huge ceiling for Herrera but that Runyon match showed a lot.

As I've said before, people get way too excited about results against wrestlers who aren't major D1 quality.

174 only approaches toss up level of Gaitan goes. There's a reason Riggins was 3rd/4th string at Iowa.
I didn’t mean they were toss up weights for the Iowa/ISU dual.

I meant they are toss ups for who ISU sends out. 125 with KT/Meza, 141 with Redding/J Frost, 174 with Riggins/Gaitan.

Seems like 157 however is entirely dependent on Paniro’s health.
