It's cool. I made it w/o a drink. I could have used a few in retrospect.Yes, my bad. It's been a long day.

I don’t know…:whatever we have seems like it’s an ice rink versus anything else I have seen. I love the grass but seems like being in the north it may need to be looked at at some point.Back to artificial turf now, is it? Many advantages to natural grass. One being that players I think prefer it, safety, etc.
Is the thinking that turf is better than grass now, in terms of the number of positives? I didn't know that. I can see the grass being more of a problem later in the year. Is that so bad that we should go with turf now?
We just put the money in for the hybrid grass for pete's sake.
What a crazy day…SEVEN top 25 teams fell…and several were thumpings.
We are a damn tough team when we play clean football. Otherwise, when we win in the margins. And for the first five games we did that. One of the least penalized teams in the country, few turnovers and great special teams (missed PAT against UCF and just a horrible FGA tonight from 50ish). We are dropping a lot of balls, Rocco is missing some very easy throws and the line regressed the last two games. We were were very good in all of those areas the first 5 games but have been much more sloppy the last two. We need to get back to playing clean, smart football.Biggest issue is we played two average at best teams at home and basically played them even. That tells me we prob are just like everyone else. At no point did we really look better than Tech or UCF. And that’s really the over riding issue, ucf wasn’t a fluke, it’s just thats all the better we are.
Yeah it’s a tough question. I absolutely love our turf and what it means to have a really, really nice turf. I’m a nobody and this makes no sense (as I have no ties to the turf crew or programs at Iowa State that support turf mgmt, etc.) but for some reason I’m really “proud” that we have a natural grass field. I want it to work so bad. But damn, it is so damn slick in what feels like most conditions. It seems worse than ever.I don’t know…:whatever we have seems like it’s an ice rink versus anything else I have seen. Lots of nfl teams use grass so who knows
We haven’t played clean football ALL year. A quarter here or there per game and that’s it. We've yet to see this team play a complete game.We are a damn tough team when we play clean football. Our 3 man front isn’t talented enough to get pressure and teams have adjusted. The one complaint I have on Heacock’s defense is when we sit back in coverage at the end of the halves it consistently gets picked apart. Pretty sure that’s exactly what happened on the last drive. The game should have been over with that 4th and 7. Not to mention we had them 1st and 15 and then let Brooks get all of it in one play.
But I have a hard time faulting the defense because when you rely on them to get stops and win you games week after week at some point they’re gonna give up a score
The def front isn’t very good- no pressure without a blitz.Total team loss. Nobody played good.
Probably biggest negative was the offense - few points against a very bad defense. Rocco and the OL were bad.
Defense could not get a stop when the chips were on the line. They also got behind our defense several times on deep balls that were overthrown.
Not talking about execution but penalties and turnovers up until the last two games we were excellent in. You see what happens when we aren’t.We haven’t played clean football ALL year. A quarter here or there per game and that’s it. We've yet to see this team play a complete game.
Ahem, we are still having a very good season and have a lot to play for. Don't count this team out.
Until we win a conference championship or two and consistently rank in the top half of the conference in recruiting, we should not be surprised of today's result. It is hard to go 7-0, harder still 8-0 and beyond (undefeated).
Let's see how the rest of the season plays out. It's been fun so far. I have to admit, today's loss was very hard.
We are the only sane people here, I think. Kidding, sort of.Agree. I think some are missing what team has accomplished coming into this game. Last time we were 7-0 school wasn't even called Iowa State.
If people on here are old enough to know a good chunk of ISU FBall history you know how special this start is.

You and I, and many others, can see the light, and know how special this team is and how this season is - so far. Of course, tonight hurts, and we want it to get even better. That's sports. That's football. Go back just a little in history, to get a reality check.
