I get the reservations about a #11 ranking, but every team 3-10 ahead of us has one or more games just as bad or worse than our worst games. Lots of parity in college football right now, outside of OSU and Texas.

There was also a play, on the game winning touchdown, where an ineligible receiver (one of the linemen from Miami) was more than three yards past the line of scrimmage before Ward threw the ball. Three yards is the allowable limit. Now that one should have been flagged. Number 73 on Miami is 4+ yards past. The penalty there would've made the next play 5 yards back and a loss of down.

It looks like he's still blocking a guy, so he's fine.

The thing people have to remember is that offensively teams first 20 or so plays are scripted. Baylor was screwed once their script had been used. We adjusted and locked them down and they had no answer.

And to me it looks like ISU almoat does better outside the script.

After a while plays really built off of each other it seemed.

The four byes go to the conference champs of the top four conferences not the top four ranked conference champs correct?
Meaning even if Boise or someone else makes it all the way to the top of the aCFP rankings they still won’t get a top 4 seed.

Top four ranked conference champions. If a G5 champ ends up #3, then they get a bye.

You also can’t tell exactly where the line of scrimmage is in that shot. If it’s the 3, he’s legal. If it’s the 4, he’s on the edge of legal (technically too far downfield, but the officials often give a little extra … unless you’re Barrett blocking for Iowa State against Houston on a TD play).

The fact he’s engaged with a defender means nothing, if you’re ineligible and more than 3 yards downfield, you’re breaking the rule.

Am I the only one that noticed Ward was past the line on that pass to get them to first and goal? It was close, but that ball came out with his front foot already past the line of scrimmage and his back foot and arm were right on the line. Shouldn't that have been a flag?
I could be wrong but I think the rule is that both feet need to be past the line to be a flag.

There‘s no official ranking of “top four conferences.” The four highest-ranked conference champions get the bye … so it’s technically possible for the champs of the MWC, AAC, Sun Belt, and MAC to all get byes.

Technically possible, not possible in any configuration of reality - but any conference champion has a shot at a bye, depending on where they’re ranked.

When Cincinnati made the 4 team playoff they would have gotten a Bye in the 12 team model. Possible, maybe even more likely then you think in the current landscape. Example. Lets pretend Boise State actually beat Oregon earlier this year and beat Wash St. Then ran the table in the Mountain West.

Say the ACC/Big 12 sort of beat up on eachother and each winner has 2 or even 3 losses. I could see Boise State being ranked higher then the ACC/Big 12 champions. I mean right now They are number 17 even with the loss to Oregon. The Big 12 campion probably ends up ranked higher then them, but what if they would have been Oregon adn the Big 12 doesn't have a 0 or 1 loss champion?

It came up in the SB, and I realize college rules may not be identical, but if the block begins in the legal area and drives the defender back to where a player is an ineligible receiver, the lineman is fine. Even if he disengages from the block, as long as he does nothing more than stand there, there is no penalty.

Bruns went off on the officials on his post game, Sunday AM pod. Said they were an awful crew in multiple ways
He said that the BIG and SEC pay their refs more so the B12 get the also rans. If you want good officiating you need to start a NIL for the refs.

Its fun but that’s all. IMO we are way overrated. Win next weekend and mid teens is def warranted.
Way overrated?

We definitely have the talent and balance to be a top-15 offense.

On defense our DBs and Big Dom are top-15 combo

A lot 10+ win and top-15 seasons have occurred with similar depth chart quality from programs of old Big 12 north and Big 10 West

If we execute and get some good fortune…maybe we finally breakthrough

I believe NFL is 1 yard unless blocking a defender which started within 1 yard. College is 3 yards and does not have an exception for continuous blocking.
