Love when the announcers were saying if Iowa beat us they had a chance at the playoff. All I could think was:

Over the first 2 weeks ALL announcers are spending WAY too much time speculating about how that game is critical for a team to get a 12 team playoff bid.

IMO we will have a 3 loss CFP team and it's going to be more important to win impressively in November than September.

But our prior kickoff only made it to the 5. I suspect the wind was against us, so either kick it out of bounds or kick short so he can't get a head of steam.
Yeah, think about that, Konrandy was kicking into the wind. That baby was good from 65, with the wind, maybe 70. We are always in FG range now.

Hard disagree. Resumes matter more than ever. It has literally never been more important for the Big 12 to compete in and win big non-conference football games. It might actually be the single most important thing for the conference.

Some fun stats:

Iowa won 50+ in a row with a 13 point lead.

McNamara started 7/8 with 61 yards. The rest of the game he was 6/21 for 38 yards and 2 INTs.

Iowas last 6 drives accounted for 23 yards and 2 first downs.

Hell of a job by the defense (and the offense/ST) to turn around after that first half.

3 and even 4 loss teams will have really tough schedules. This was possibly Iowa’s second toughest game.

Positive takes from that game..

1. Our defensive backfield is really good!
2. The trio of Rocco, Higgins, and Noel is deadly.
3. Jackson? Where did that come from? He needs more carries. That was next level stuff.
4. Heacock is the best DC in the nation.
5. Oline looks improved from last year.
6. We have a kicker!
7. CMC. This team reflects everything he teaches. "Team" is key. They play for one another. Every player comments how they work hard to be the best player they can for the "Team". Fun stuff to watch.
