Bold (kinda) prediction

As long as the defense isn't on the field for 40 minutes a game it is possible. I think one of the two will have a huge game against Iowa next week. Probably Higgins.
Could be Higgins, tho Noel wouldn't surprise me.
Dude was highly heralded early on tho tended to disappoint.
His first quarter catch was a mindwreck...plus defensive interference.
Great young man, as well.

Kinda off topic.
Somebody mentioned Freyler today, as in is he "draftable."
Think he's too slow given his current position.
Dude's built like a brick shithouse.
Given our lb crisis, maybe move him there. A tad bit small, like Lanning, but me thinks he'd make a significant impact in a VERY weak (injured) room

Wouldn't shock me. Rocco can sling it and has great chemistry with those two. Our bad run offense and bad run defense could put us in a lot of "must pass to win" scenarios too.
It looked like the box was stacked most of the time, thus opening up the outside game. In other words, we took what they gave us.

I'm pretty confident they'll combine for 2000 receiving yards at least. Last year was pretty close (983+820).

Optimistic on the running game still. Abu looked good today in limited time. No one else really did much except pound it up the middle for 0-5 yards but that's also about all we were running.

Cyclones have not had two 1000-yard receivers going back at least to the Johnny Majors era. I can't imagine it happened ever before that. Last year I think might have been the only year where we even had two guys with 800+. Even in the year when Brock threw for nearly 4000 yards, the #2 receiver only had 722.

I agree with this. He’s essentially a LB already anyway.

Carson Hanson had some good 4.5 yard runs but we didn’t feed him much. He can move a pile

We hardly looked at a huge part of our offense yesterday. That is likely by design. Plus they stacked the box, so running the ball was gonna be difficult.

Why is everyone panicking? We were extremely vanilla yesterday in both offense and defense. The obvious game plan on defense was make them drive the field and keep everything in front of you. They were aggressive at all with anything. I expect that to change. Plus give the linebackers that will play all the reps this week and I bet they look better going forward

I'm not sure when the idea of sports success being linear became the norm but along with basketbsll, it's a thing on CF.

One game or week is its own silo and then the next one will be totally different. Some weeks it's all clicking and others it just doesn't work.

This. After that first td it felt like we were fine winning 7-0

He’s a good 3rd down back. Good receiver and blitz pickup guy. I’m not sold on him as a pure ball carrier yet. Seems serviceable, good speed and power, but want to see some ability to make guys miss or break some if the play isn’t exactly blocked well.

I really like the versatility he brings though.

Hansen kinda reminds me of that Pendergrass(sp?) kid at Baylor that we seemingly had trouble stopping last year (thankful for Dave Aranda coaching). Let’s use Hansen to do that to other teams.

Love our backfield. That said, I hope we have less than 5 carry’s the whole game next weekend. Go Sexy Rex Grossman on them and say **** it, I’m going deep.
